23.01.2022 A C17 Locomotive pulls into Esk Station, c1965, for this weeks #StationSaturday. Built in 1886, Esk station was the terminus station on the Brisbane Valley line until 1904 when the line was further extended. The restored station is now a feature on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Heres DL19 KALBO a 2 ft gauge ComEng diesel leaving the bulk sugar terminal at Mourilyan with empty sugar boxes, c1975. Fun fact - Queensland Railways owned 30 miles of 2 ft gauge railway at Innisfail between 1914 and 1977. DL19 was originally built to 3 ft 6 ins gauge operating on the Aramac Shire Tramway at Barcaldine where it was known as R.R.MAC. Keith McDonald
