25.01.2022 So honored continually, to be in a position where I belong to an awesome yoga community. Where we sweat and toil together in the hope of contributing to a better world for all. The students at this school just leave me speechless with their efforts. So awesome. Xx, Mick

22.01.2022 About now as usual we start looking at next year. Ways to build on what we have here at TYF and how we can improve that and continue to not only go forward in our practice but also as a small community, where we share our passions, to live freely. But getting past 2020 is like, what has this year been all about? It certainly has been a year where we have all been asked to step up, stay present, think of others more and really strap in and consolidate our practices to not onl...y get through but do it without going grey with worry, doubt and anxiety. For us there has been many challenges: opening Central and being closed down before we could open, zooming classes (god that was horrible...but it kept us together), limited numbers... We all have memories and stories of what has been a challenge of a year. We all helped each other. You supported us and we gave away heaps of free passes to keep people’s practices alive and real. Life is so much more bearable with yoga. So now as we get to the end of 2020 we want to do something different to celebrate our communities successes. We could meet like we usually do but this year calls for something different. A celebration. We decided to do an intensive/workshop weekend. A practice that will challenge you all, bring us all together and take us deeper into not only our practice but our connections. We decided to spend Saturday opening our hearts wider than our smiles and explore a variety of deeper backbends. And Sunday turn it all upside down for one last time. As yogis we are so accustomed to being upside down that the turbulence of our worlds being turned upside down was a little easier. Being able to master inversions is unbelievably satisfying on so many levels. So wether or not you can or can’t go upside, the Sunday class will give you something special. Most importantly, Sunday night, a party! An infamous Yoga Factory party. This is the cherry on the cake. To sweat and toil for 2 days and then unwind with the community, share a meal, some tales, a laugh and most of all further the connections we have within the school. 12th+13th of December | for more info click link in bio Please join us!

19.01.2022 Us lot here at The Yoga Factory has been so content in our shala, doing our practices and keeping stealth and Xmas has literally snuck up on us:) We have put a very limited number of The Yoga Factory gift certificates together in the hope you may gift someone the precious entry into a life long love affair with mental, physical and all round well being. This gift won’t end up in the cupboard, or under the bed or used once and forgotten about. Maybe the gift of yoga is the cat...alyst for everything to change. The card allows you to gift whatever monetary amount you like. It can cover a monthly pass, or part pass, 10 class part or a contribution to our world famous Beginners Course. Whichever it is it’ll be a great present. As we crawl out of 2020 do something good for your loved ones. Give Yoga It’s the single most important thing in the lives of most of us here at TYF. *can be purchased at both schools OR email [email protected] to get yours organized

19.01.2022 This is some of the crew of our 2020 Teacher Training. As we near the 5 month mark of the training, students have just completed the Anatomy section with the incredibly talented Jade Clark @jade.owl. The training is committed to giving you not only the instruction manual of teaching but making sure you experience teaching. Mick has a way of sharing the teachings accessibly, animating all the information, so students who are becoming teachers, at the end can actually TEACH con...fidently and possess the ability to articulate, each of them in their own way, bringing character to life. We do all this in REAL life (not online)...as a small group, where we can be present with each other and learn teaching hands-on... and that is very special these days. As we always say, you can’t learn yoga if you don’t practice, same applies to teaching, you can’t teach if you don’t actually teach and learn to hassle. Yoga can’t be learned from books. We are about to open the door to our next 350hr Teacher Training, starting August/September 2021. Be the first to get onto this Training, where students become teachers. Email [email protected] to get the info brochure

18.01.2022 Happy Birthday to this very special person who gives and teaches us all so much. Every day! In some way his passion to see others navigate their lives and find peace is a reflection of the turmoil that his own life has been. His sincere hope that others do not suffer so much is what gets him going without expecting much back. He is there for us all, every morning, on the mat, with hope and intention to make the lives at least a little bit better. Thank you for your teachings. Thank you for your passion. And patience. We all love and admire you so much.

09.01.2022 How do we understand this human condition? The war that rages within me, myself and I. The thirst for being comfortable in your own skin. With or without the stuff that you consume in order to be content. Could we just be content in our lives without the idea of making everything right? Well we can. But we have to discover the truth. Yoga puts us constantly in the unique position of experience. In our practice we can create the ideal place for us to be still, mirror life’s ch...allenges and how we respond or react to those challenges. This is where you, your breath and asana are important. But more important is the architecture of that whole yoga experience. It has to start with breath, we cannot control our minds if we don’t control our breath. Therefore the situations we create on our mats to observe ourselves, our ways, our habits, afflictions, peculiarities and the very things that set off discontent, need to be managed. Nervous system, respiratory system, environments and the like all need to be considered in order to be in an experience of observation. Contrary to popular opinion, this yoga stuff is a science. The gift of the practice is freedom from self. Finding a place where this science is taught is as arduous as the freedom that is promised. We do our best to be of service to those wishing to discover that science and put you on this path of wonderment, curiosity. See more

08.01.2022 This is Paul. He has been a bit of a local around the inner west forever. As real teachers practice consistently we first met Paul when he wandered into the old Camperdown Yoga Factory about 8 years ago. Since those days he has been a part of the school. As a student and now a teacher. Paul has been teaching Yoga for a long time and with that comes a wealth of not only experience but the wisdom to meet the needs of the student. Since joining us, he has embraced the 8 limb pat...h of yoga, but as we all know he has also retained his Bhakti essence with fervor. That being said you can be sure his classes are strong, dynamic, challenging and inclusive whilst all the while being held in that essence of the love of Bhakti. There is a kindness in Paul that he radiates effortlessly. A generosity to be of service to all. Paul is another of the real deal Yoga school. Upholding and supporting the old ways of self realization. Make sure you get to meet him. See more

02.01.2022 Yoga’s underlying purpose is to understand oneself, the mechanisms. And how those mechanisms incite suffering. We do not need to change the practice everyday, because everyday it is us that is different. Understanding this is essential to the practice. Maintaining a familiar and repetitive practice removes the obstacle of keeping up, working out what’s going on and being concerned with what and how to do the asana. In turn we can then give 100% effort to creating the still po...int to observe, the breath. By controlling the breath we can in turn understand how to control the mind. This is our purpose. Next time you are on the mat, try it. Work with a full rhythm of in and out breath, with bandha, with drishti and purpose from start to finish. Own that difficulty of practice. Then ask yourself, Do I move with breath? Does breath initiate my movement and finish my movement? Am I present in entirety to observe the phenomena of mind, not asana? See more

02.01.2022 This is Tara. This amazing woman came here to TYF some years ago looking for a change of pace. Something different from the Sydney Yoga scene. She had worked and hustled until she found a job teaching for us. Tara’s belief in the spiritual aspect of yoga has made her pursue ways and means to give students that experience. Accessing the spiritual through the physical aspects of asana. Her strength is to be able to continue to evolve. To strip away all and everything that stand...s in her way of freedom. She is a powerful loving woman with a wealth of life’s experience which as we know gives us the empathy that is needed to serve others. Tara is another TYF teacher who teaches inclusively and safely. Her classes are measured keeping both respiratory and nervous systems calm that the experience is conducive to yoga. Come meet her, she has a wicked sense of humor and a beautiful caring presence.
