30.05.2022 TODAY HAS ME REFLECTING . . I think back to 2 years ago when my practice and breath work was not consistent. It was a project, just like my crochet blanket, something to pick up, put down, and come back to when it felt right. .... . So much has changed, and yet so much is just the same as it has been. . . The practice is just that, practice. The breath is just that, an inhale followed by an exhale. The asana work is just that, a pose to move the body and stretch. . . 16.05.2022 GODDESS POSE GET THAT FEMININE ENERGY BABY! . . As you practice utkata konasana, be conscious of the feminine energy at work. This energy can be felt throughout your daily life, both as a part of this pose, and also in your alignment of feelings, practices, and mantras everywhere you go. .... . Utkata = powerful or fierce Kona = angle Asana = pose Physical Benefits: . . ~Stretches your hips, groin, and chest. ~Tones and strengthens the core muscles. ~Strengthens the quadriceps and inner thigh muscles. ~Heats the body and increases circulation. . . Encourages downward energy (apana). Activates root and sacral chakras. . . HOW TO; . ~Start in a wide standing stance. ~Turn your toes out and your heels in, so your feet are pointed out at about a 45-degree angle. ~Bend your knees in the same direction as your toes, and lower your hips down toward the height of your knees. ~Reach your arms out at shoulder height and bend your elbows so that your fingertips point skyward. ~Spread your fingertips wide and activate the muscles across your back. ~Engage your core muscles and draw your tailbone toward the floor. ~Keep your spine long. ~Stay here for 30 seconds to one minute, then release. . . 04.05.2022 MANTRA MEDITATION MONDAY "OM SO HUM . . So Hum is derived from Sanskrit and literally means ... . . I am That. . . It means identifying oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. As we meditate on this, we realise that we are all one, we have all come from one Infinite Source, and that a part (Ansh) of that infinite source is present in all of us. We are all connected. . . You are the same as I am, OM, is the sound of universe. . . Om Soham ~ I am the universe, I am part of it, I am connected to that Infinite source. . . Its not just a mantra which we should understand, its a technique, and just chanting Om So Hum, Om So Hum for 10-15 mins daily can relax the breathing and balance our inner energy flow.
