Plus, it activates your parasympathetic nervous system, which calms your body and slows your heart rate (rather than the autonomic nervous system, which triggers your fight-or-flight response)

20.01.2022 || W e d n e s d a y || 6am Vinyasa [Jason]... 9.30am Vinyasa [Cherri] 6pm Yin [Eve] We know you guys LOVE Yin and there is more Yin coming your way! Weve just added a second weekly Yin for Fridays 6pm! Starts September 18! For now dont miss out on our Wednesday nights 6pm Yin with Eve, this class gets pretty packed, so we suggest you book your spot in advance via MINDBODY ! If you are new to Yin or Yoga in general you are welcome to join. This class is at a very slow pace, no flow! (Mostly), seated and postures laying down are held for 3-5min at a time to open the connective tissue.. oh yeah, there is soooo much stuff we hold in our body, especially in our tissues! This class is not necessarily placing your body in comfortable shapes (like eg in our Restorative classes), but into manageable uncomfortable shapes, an edge that is sustainable. Options are given to those with injuries and we offer support structures such as bolsters, blocks, straps and blankets. After every longer hold we pause and to give our body time to reorganise, some call this part the rebound. During this pause you might feel a sense of relief on a physical level and often times this goes together with an emotional/mental release. For most it can also be felt on an energetic level as meridian lines in the body become unblocked. This is what makes this practice so wonderful, you leave feeling open, more spacious and detoxed!

16.01.2022 || S u n d a y || 8am Vinyasa [Sarita]... 9.30am Slow Flow [Sarita] 4pm Restorative [Yemaya] RESTORATIVE. Restorative Yoga is exactly as it sounds, this practice restores the body. Instead of building strength, stamina and balance we are cultivating stillness, expanding meditation and deepening the stretch of our overworked (or underworked) muscles. The purpose of this practice is to achieve physical, emotional and spiritual relaxation and balance. Poses are typically held for longer periods of time, ranging anywhere from three to twenty minutes with the use of props. Props ensure that the body is entirely supported, aiding in a deeper stretch and a relaxed state of being. Common props include bolsters, blankets, blocks and the like to assist with providing maximum support.

The last months have been really busy for us in the background of the studios... Hence it was nice to fully enjoy the space without too many agendas, to dive deeper into the connection with teachers and students, to say thank you to all the generous help weve received renovating! Wed like to extend the thank you to the community, all students, teachers who have joined us on this path more recently or perhaps have been with us from the very start! Thank you for trusting us to make it all happen, to trust the continuous and joyful effort in delivering fun, mindfully informed classes to all levels of experience. Thank you, without you and your patience it would simply not have been possible! This is just one of many more milestones that wed like to highlight. Also a huge thank you to the most amazing team of teachers, from more than 5 different countries, continuously learning, sharing from the heart to honour and support your journey.. Laura holds such a beautiful, safe space, that it allows you to feel comfortable to explore and move... so if youre a little concerned about what to expect, dont worry! Theres really no right or wrong ...way to move! And did we mention that its by candlelight, and youll have your eyes closed for most of the dance? This really allows you to sink in to yourself, and let go of any inhibitions or concerns about "whether youre doing it right!". 09.01.2022 || S a t u r d a y || 8am Vinyasa [Karoliina]... 9.30am Slow Flow [Wendy] UJJAYI Ujjayi Pranayama (breath regulating technique) is a soft, whispering breath which you’ll also hear called victorious breath, or perhaps ocean breath. The mechanics of Ujjayi breath With Ujjayi breath you breathe in and out of the nose with the lips sealed no breath passes the lips. This also serves to build heat in the body. The lips gently close and although the breath is passing through the nostrils the emphasis is in your throat. The tone, the audibility is smooth and steady, continuous uninterrupted cycles of inhales and exhales, often you cannot tell the difference in sound between the exchange of in and out breath cycles. When to use Ujjayi breath You can practise Ujjayi breath any time you wish. You don’t have to be on your yoga mat. But if you are on your yoga mat, acknowledge that the breath creates heat in the body. If you are doing a Yin or Restorative yoga class you may not want to add this element of heat in the body. Instead you might want to maintain a soft and fluid breath without sound. Remember in the end it’s not about how loudly you breathe, if you can’t hear your breath it’s okay too. It’s more about the quantity and quality of your awareness you place upon your breath

Oriana is a passionate yoga teacher and intuitive sound therapy healer. She is adept to mindfulness, embodiment, shamanic rituals, and movement practices. In and off the mat you will find her passionate and connected to her heart, the energy and vibrational ways of living. She feels and lives life as sound and... vibration. Oriana passion and belief for yoga has taken her to travel to India to learn more in depth about the philosophy of this ancient science. Her trainings in Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha among others and her embody and tantric practices take her classes into new ways to see yoga not just as physical , but mentally and spirituality as a way of living from your heart and sensations. She is dynamic, joyful and cant wait to share with you her energy by flowing with the breath and connecting on the mat, one breath at the time. See more
