25.01.2022 It’s Yoga Time... sending my happy vibes out to you all Now just waiting for students to arrive for Slow Flow 8:00pm every Tuesday it’s a popular class so book in advance

24.01.2022 Sooo... we know you have all been asking me how the Yoga Tent Camping Retreat went and we haven't posted any photos or really been able to describe it. We feel like I'm at a lost for words because it was everything we could of hope for and MORE! Honestly, this past weekend surrounded by such strong, amazingly giving and loving souls have nourished my heart in so many ways. ... They trust me to lead them outside their comfort They opened up and shared how they felt They expressed through painting their creative side to themselves without fear of judgement They asked for help They cooked and cleaned together They created new connections with one another They explored nature They listened and learned from one another There was lots of laughter, tears and an ABUNDANCE of connection happening this past weekend we will NEVER forget! We can't thank the women enough for all their love and support this past weekend... we can't wait to do it again! Stay tuned in for the next dates coming soon.... make sure you sign up to be the first to know!!!! See more

24.01.2022 I will have to admit... I didn't know what a Swag was until I moved to WA... and then quickly learnt that it's an amazing way to go from Novice Camper to Intermediate Camper. Swags are amazing tents that include a mattress inside and only have a few poles to install if any on some depending on which one you buy. Our lovely friends have one and always let me borrow it when I go camping solo when shooting photography at festivals. ... If you love nature and travelling like me... I highly recommend getting a Swag right now as going overseas is not an option but doesn't mean you can travel in your own State to experience nature in your own backyard so to speak. Discover new ways to travel and enjoy your life that you may have overlooked before. Camping is so affordable and fun if you just give it a chance... though I do recommend booking campsites soon as they do book out quickly. I've already committed to monthly camping this year! Join us on our upcoming Summer Camping Retreat by signing up to our VIP Access link in bio... you don't want to miss out! Countdown commences as it is 1 WEEK till our #YogaTentCampingRetreat See more

21.01.2022 How do you feel when u stop practicing yoga? Do u notice anything change? It was beautiful to hear from a student yesterday in our Yoga Workshop that when she stops practising yoga her mind is not as clear! ... This was music to my hears... because so many of think that yoga is about the body when we initially start out but the more you practice you understand it is so much more about the mind and the connection to the body and especially the soul. Now tell me in the comments below what specifically you notice... so we can share with one another the ripple affect of yoga Ps. Yoga tonight 6:00pm and 7:30pm

20.01.2022 Change in season... I definitely am feeling the change in season from hot days to the cool winds... from rain to shine... the weather feels undecided on what it wants to do... I feel this change within as well... ... No matter what is happening right now...plans are shifting... and moving around and I'm just along for the ride. It is usually this time of the month 3rd week where I feel off track... anyone else notices when they aren't following their plans? Good news... I understand I can still get back on track with my plans/goals or intentions. Example of going off track... is with my #yogaaday challenge... that dropped off for a few days. As a major project entered my life... Landscaping my backyard which I didn't think would affect my work has. Having a past career for so many years as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of companies... I had to always be an adaptable person. Schedules/plans change and shifting things is part of all life experiences... no matter how much you can anticipate. The one way I help my schedule when planning is to always leave room for un-anticipated things to pop up and not mess everything up. Another thing I want to acknowledge is how quick self-care practices... something as simple as doing #yogaaday can get dropped off the priority of my own day. I want to share that because even someone that does feel like I have very good self-care practices especially with doing yoga regularly... I still drop the ball! Even though I try my best to encourage you all to do yoga daily... I get that it's hard to get to the mat. So if you are feeling not motivated at the moment... that's okay...acknowledge and try to understand WHY is this happening for you? Maybe it's your week of being unmotivated...like me... Maybe you got a lot of projects on at the moment... like me... Maybe you aren't feeling good... Maybe you are financially low... Whatever it is... figure it out gain more awareness to your own patterns in life to help understand and help fix it the next month so you can create better new habits. See more

16.01.2022 after a week of reflection for my weekend in nature... Ive decided a few things that I feel is important to share as they might help you too. 1. Sharing on social media when I feel INSPIRED to share vs feeling like you need me to post daily to stay relevant in your news feed... if I dont have nothing really INSPIRING to share then I wont. At the end of the day... a double tap on an image or a video isnt really worth so much time it takes to create the content we share. ... Which is another point... if you do follow local businesses... take the time to read, COMMENT, tag or share, like their posts as it might take u one second to scroll past it... but it has taken them a few minutes to HOURS to create that one picture + caption. It means the world to small businesses when you comment and share their work as it makes them feel SUPPORTED. Being less on social media is AWESOME but sharing experiences on social media is exciting too... for me now I just wanna do my own thing on socials for FUN! 2. Being in nature makes me so happy... every time Im in nature I always thinking oh Im going to do this more because its awesome... and for the most part I do actually do it but now Ive told myself it needs to happen more and I really want to take Tony camping as well... there are so many places not far from Perth to camp so weekend trips are manageable... its all about making time for it just like anything else we make time for. If I can go camping monthly Ill be a happy CAMPER (pun intended) 3. Follow your heart Your heart always knows what you want... we look externally for the answers but we forget that the heart never lies... the mind plays more tricks on than the heart does. Make sure your heart, your mind and body are always speaking to each other...if they are trust in your heart... let it guide you to magical places Finally if you feel like you have a disconnect between you heart mind body please join us on the mat Monday to Thursday in the #YogaTentStudio we love connecting you to all 3

16.01.2022 I remembered to take photos this time... everyone put so much effort! I asked each of them what pose they would like to master by the end of the year... There were 2 people for crow, toe stand, king dancer (w/ strap) and headstand ... So Im looking forward to seeing all of them process these next few months

16.01.2022 Warrior 1, 2, 3 #YogaADay challenge completed by Yogi @kelli.jones.3154 Yoga asana can be part of day anytime we stop to do a few poses... its good for the body to move. Its good for mind to switch modes and its good for the soul to connect to the mind and body together. Keep sharing your photos with me so I can share them with the community so they can see not just me and Syari doing yoga but you guys too... as we are all about the community vibes at the #yogatentstudio

12.01.2022 Our beautiful Syari lead out yoga meditation practices every morning during our Camping Retreat as well as our yoga hike! As teachers, I think we always forget to explain that yoga does not just pose... the word YOGA involves so many aspects beyond the body and physical poses we teach in a class. The yoga we teach regularly is called ASANA! ... I think we forget that meditation... DHYANA is another level of yoga. Breathwork exercises we practice is also another level of yoga called PRANAYAMA. On our YOGA TENT CAMPING RETREAT, we focused on DHYANA + PRANAYAMA yoga practices more than our ASANA practice as these 2 are just as important to create in our life as well. If you want to learn to create these into your practices more...please sign up to join our next Camping Retreat in November soon to be announced. If you would like a workshop or class in the #yogatentstudio let us know and we can create something new if this interests you. @yogawithsyari #yogatentcampingretreat See more

11.01.2022 There is a lot going on around us in our home, our relationships, our work, our State, our Country, our World these days... It is hard to stay focused and balanced with so many distractions pulling us from one thing to the next. Even if you disconnect from the TV or social media...others will still fill you in. ... So what do we do to stay focused and find balance when we before we starting going off balance... WHAT DO YOU DO??? I would love to hear what you guys do ? Obviously, yoga is the answer I would say... But more recently I find my asana practice hasn't been my go to.... Just sitting still every morning for a 1 minute or 5 minutes or 20 minutes has helped me. Connecting to my breath.... Today I sat on the couch... I could hear the birds outside, my cat Gingy purring next to me, my knee pulsing with a bit of pain, my left shoulder still dropping, my heart was full as Tony sat next to me also in stillness, I could hear the fridge buzzing, I ask myself...are you okay? I reply yesss... I'm well. I set my intention to be productive and focused in whatever was most important to get done today. Then I opened my eyes drank my cacao and made us a lovely brunch meal as Tony is working late night shifts and we aren't able to eat dinner together. I wasn't really meditating but just sitting still with my thoughts half tuning out and half of the timing inward. I find when I just do this... I feel more focused in my day ahead vs trying to go deep into meditation. It's a mini checking in to see where I'm at with all the feelings, body scan, mindfulness. If this sounds like something you want to try let me know how you go... We will be practising sitting still every morning on the upcoming Camping Retreat on Nov 27-29 if you are interested in coming there is 1 lucky spot left. DM me if you feel like it's something you are wanting to join. #yogaperth #yogatentcampingretreat #perthretreat See more

10.01.2022 As we are moving into the season of GIVING... I want you to consider this before buying your next gift for that someone special in your family... Really sit back and ask yourself... WHY...... Why am I buying them a gift? ...maybe you answer...because I buy one every year. Why do I think I need to buy them a gift? ...maybe you answer...because it's my way of showing them I care. Why do I think they will like this specific gift? ...maybe you answer... because it is what they asked for and it will make them so happy. Whatever the reason you come up with ... it really doesn't matter... What I want you to do is just start understanding WHY you take those actions in your life so you can start living with more purpose and essentially create a more INTENTIONAL LIFESTYLE. When you start asking yourself WHY... you start slowing down the process of continuing to do things .... JUST CAUSE... you have always done so. When you start asking yourself WHY... you might reconsider buying them the gift you thought you were going to get them...and maybe ask them if they need it or want it... vs wasting money on a gift they might not even really enjoy. I think its more important NOW more than ever to ask one another if we NEED or WANT a gift from each other... vs feeling we have to in order to make one another feel happy...or us happy. We also need to have the courage to ask each other if we like the gift idea... I love a good surprise just like anyone but I also like receiving a gift that is useful or something I really desire vs something that I will never use. More on this topic with cool gift ideas...TOMORROW...stay tuned in...but lets just start understanding the purpose of WHY we give gifts during this season... and keeping a tradition alive is beautiful... but buying with purpose is way more beautiful than just buying just cause you always have. PS... only a few eye masks left to buy if you want to gift yourself or a friend something for their meditation practice. See more

09.01.2022 Just submitted my application to Council for my business approval... so everyone cross your fingers and toes SENDING POSITIVE VIBES out there ... has this experience has been challenging and a MASSIVE learning curve but no matter what the outcomes... nothing will stop my heart from smiling everything happens for beautiful reasons even if we don’t understand it right now... I know I will remember this moment! I have felt so much love and encouragement from so m...any people but mostly from the Yogi Tribe... love you all! Two special recognition to Sam and Rob who have help with drafting my proposal and having nothing but TIME and positive feedback during this process. The process is not over just beginning... and I will do my best to keep you informed. But no matter what I have grown and made some amazing connections with others and my neighbours that I’m so grateful for! 2020 is not letting up and still pushing me to keep growing Now back to Yoga Tent Camping Retreat this weekend!!!!

09.01.2022 I feel like no matter how many times I share this on my page... most people forget that yoga was only practised by MEN ONLY. Women werent allowed to practice it in Indian and now its majority practice and taught by women. I love teaching both men and women in the #yogatentstudio from what I feel and gather from female students their partners feel discouraged to practice yoga as they feel like its for females only.... Tell why you find it hard to get your partners to join a class with you? If they think they will enjoy a yoga class with just men ... fun energy-based class with beer and receive socks as well ... all profits go to @basicsforblokes non-profit and for each man that joins a homeless man gets a pair of socks... This class was inspired by my lovely husband Tony who is in the picture flying by his best mate Nick as a base. Tony wanted to create a class for his blokes to do yoga so he could introduce what it was all about to his friends who always see me doing it or us doing together from time to time. We believe the best way to know something is to actually try vs ASSUME you think you know what it is all about. So if you have ever been interested but never joined in because you weren't sure what yoga was all about... this is for you. FRIDAY 14 AUGUST @ 6:00pm $25 donation See more

08.01.2022 Yesterday I learnt so much from the beautiful @lareewassonart and from this Sunday... She showed us how to make a grid with a protractor, which I was useless at using and need her help as it has been 20 years since I used one in math class.... Then it was all about adding layers to this mandala... framing petals and using other designs around us to add into our drawing ... I never really ever thought about drawing mandalas as a method as I’ve always painted my final piece but I have to admit... I’m loving my new Artline 0.8 pens! I literally drew all day. I went straight to Officeworks to get pens and then packed a picnic and drove to the river for lunch and more time to chill out and just draw. Such a relaxing Sunday drawing I feel like this could be my new Sunday afternoon routine! As we have been working hard these past few months... on our house and garden and kombi... it feels weird to have time to slow down and enjoy something like drawing. I learnt to give myself permission to slow down I reminded myself that I am very creative I forgot how much I LOVE DRAWING and seeing what I create brings me so much joy... even though I wasn’t doing a house project I got so much out of mindfully drawing all day! We do still have projects but we decided that Sunday’s are our chill out day together... who else has Sunday as a chill out day and has always stuck to that routine? Love to know what people do on Sundays to chill...

08.01.2022 PLANNING food for our upcoming Camping Retreat... and wanted to reach out and ask for any ideas you guys might want to know for good easy camping meals. We have most of it all planned out already but wanted to see if there were ones we haven't thought of. This past camping trip with friends I learnt a few new recipes like Banana and Egg pancakes which were sooo delicious I have made them 3 times since. ... So please send me cool ones you love having when you go camping in the comments below. #YogaTentCampingRetreat See more

07.01.2022 Weekend in nature always good for the soul... Every time I get back in I remember how much I miss it and wish I could stay longer or thinking when can I come back with Tony. I get to experience so many of my favourite things when I go camping... from photography, arts and crafts, card readings, reading a book, listening to music, cooking and eating.... but mostly the people Im surrounded with make it so magical. ... This time we got to celebrate bestie and soul sista @amandajo birthday and celebrate 3 year Lunas first camping experience ever! Such a special trip this time... it made me realise how much more I need to be out in nature away from the city more often than I realise. Cant wait to share my photos... these are so awesome being candid of me @ Nanga Mill Camp Site

06.01.2022 I love how art can be so meditative... It’s cool to discover new ways to get out of your head and focus on something Whether it is your breath ... whether it is music whether it is someone’s voice whether it is balancing your body In the upcoming Mandala workshop you will discover how ART and drawing can be a focal point to create a relaxing mind Sunday 22 at 9:30am $42 with @lareewassonart teaching us how it is done Link in bio to book

05.01.2022 times are changing... and so are we as human beings as we keep moving faster in the digital world ... we need to also develop ourselves in a healthy way with staying connected to what is important and fundamental unlike our iPhones we don't get notifications when we need an UPGRADE... to tell us we have bugs that need fixing or we are running on old software. we have to figure that stuff out for ourselves... BUT HOW? Well that's the hard part... we got to be willing to open ourselves and ask hard questions; like where I am going in life am I happy is everything I am doing right now good for my health in terms of what I eat, drink, what pillow I'm sleeping on, what people I am surrounding myself with, the people I follow on Instagram, the relationship I have with my best friend, the relationship I have with my self....do I like what I see in the morning? So many things impact our lives and they are not all easy to alter and change for the betterment of our lives all at once... but firstly it has to start with simply acknowledging that you need to change... WE ALL DO! I don't believe there is one person in this place that has it all together... which is why we need to be there for each other and listen to friend and loved ones when they are offering help or advice ... and we might be ignoring it or too stubborn to listen because we don't like change... whatever is going on in your life... trust me... change is GOOD... trust that whatever change is required... it will only bring your JOY in the long run. Don't wait or waste time thinking about changing either... today is a perfect day to start Ps. yoga is a not a practice that just makes you happy on the outside... it also makes you happy on the inside too! 05.01.2022 It's biking season Here are a few reasons to start biking in 2020! 1. Zero Emissions 2. You Save Money On Fuel 3. It Gives You Legs Of Steel ... 4. Your Heart Is Happy When You Use It 5. It Reduces Stress 6. The Earth Is Happy When You Use It 7. You Can Sing On It 8. You Can Carry Your Bags 9. No Car Tax OR Insurance 10. It Makes You Happy 11. You Can Carry Your Books, Flowers and Food 12. No Parking Problems 13. You Can Have Done Your Exercise For The Day I have owned this bike now for 8 years now... I bought it when I lived in West Melbourne (the city) and I rode to work and back daily on it. I did all my food shopping with it as I had no car. When I moved to Perth this came along with my bags as it is an essential part of my life. However, Melbourne and Perth have a very different landscape and public transport is very different here. Working from home I don't use transport much and still like to use my bike for all local errands. I had a massive fall on my bike last year which marked my skin pretty badly on my knee, side of body and arm but the next month I was back on my bike riding around. Biking on the roads it's just important to be mindful of your surroundings always, and try to use the bike paths as much as possible. So dust off your bike helmet and get cycling again this Spring/Summer See more

04.01.2022 BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR! We will be collecting essential items for women all of October... there will be a basket inside the Tent to drop off your items. 02.01.2022 yesterday we had such a blast in the Yoga Tent learning and just practising yoga with; so much laughter so much effort so much encouragement... Yoga is such an enriching practice as there are so many layers to it with discovering spirituality and mindfulness, which I feel comes later on for some of us... The asana (physical) practice is how MANY of us discover the practice but some through meditation. But with the bulk of us discovering the asana practice, we find out to move the body in ways we never thought of or even thought we even could... which is WHY I love teaching Yoga Workshops!!!! Moving my body daily feels fantastic and just connecting with the body more and more as the years go on has been such an incredible journey to leading a healthier lifestyle I have ever driven before. I honour my meditation and spiritual practices just as much, maybe sometimes more, but I will never forget how I felt learning to move my body in ways I never saw before when I was a beginner. But I can't help but still love moving into poses that I find challenging for myself and still surprise myself when I hold it as long as I do. Finding that balance, that sweet spot where the world goes away, and you get so happy that you were able to stay in a pose for even 1-2 seconds longer than the last time you did it. That feeling never gets old to me! SUCCESS! The human body is impressive and what we can do with it also fantastic when we set our minds to it. I love seeing students faces when they impress themselves being able to do a poses that they thought they couldn't or that it looked too hard for them... I love that look because it was the MIND that said it was too hard... the body was able but the MIND had doubts so the look was the body telling the mind... I CAN DO IT! As a teacher... in the yoga workshop, I'm here to be your cheerleader to get you out of your head and into the body. So I have booked the remaining months Yoga Workshops for all the students who have come in the past can't wait to see you again those of you who are keen on joining us to improve our moves and finding that balance link in bio to book!
