23.01.2022 2 0 2 0 R E C A P Well wasn't that one crazy ride? I know some people do not like the yearly recap or even listening to others but I am all about it. I think it is such good practise to reflect on our life and take appropriate actions afterwards. Here is the yearly recap for myself and @theyoungwellnessproject KIARA Started running after 23 months off.... Breastfed Charlie until 14 months. Launched a business. Cared for Charlie each day. Battled postnatal depression. Still fighting. Completed @ladystartups course Read 200 books with Charlie. 7 by myself. Worked casual some days. Felt like a failure many days. Strengthened my pelvic floor. So many colds. Bloody Charlie. Joined @empoweredmother_ BEST ever. Lost a close friendship. Gained 12kg unexpectedly. 5 family trips away. Lived in lockdown for months and again now. THE YOUNG WELLNESS PROJECT Registered as an Australian small business. Rebranded including logo and colours. Created more meaningful content. Launched website. Photoshoot for website and socials. First ever workshop. Connected with amazing businesses. Welcomed. Ambassadors @courtneyjayyne and @tay.lisle Now remember this is MY list. Do not read this and think that you have avhieved nothing. A lot of you studied for school or university online for months, something I definitely couldn't have done. It's all about perspective right?? What you have achieved this year is enough. Be kind to yourself. I am also extremely lucky to have Tommy, my mum and my friends Engy, Lil and Riss who supported me so much physically and emotionally to launch a business in the middle of a pandemic whilst juggling motherhood. Bring on 2021
23.01.2022 I T ' S O K A Y It's okay to be angry. It's okay to be hurt. It's okay to be happy.... It's okay to be disappointed. It's okay to be overwhelmed. It's okay to be energetic. It's okay to be excited. It's okay to be fearless. It's okay to be scared. It's okay to be grateful. It's more than okay to be YOU. When we live in an uncertain world, it's okay for us to feel a range of emotions, sometimes, all in the one day. Remember, emotions aren't good or bad, it is how we react to them that counts. : Taken the morning after I found out I couldn't go home to Queensland for Christmas. It was a very raw moment. It will be a year next week since I have seen some of my family including a parent. They have missed a year of Charlie. We know our time to reunite will come soon enough.

10.01.2022 M I N D FU L H O L I D A Y S It has been an unsual start to summer holidays with some people isolated, others in lockdown and others living with anxiety about what is to come. Our minds may feel overloaded, overwhelmed and busy despite us not actually doing much. Now is the perfect time for us to get back into our mindfulness practise. Do one thing at a time. If you are eating a meal, sit there and just eat. If you are checking emails, just check your emails. Tune in wi...th your senses. What can you see? Taste? Touch? Hear? Smell? Ground your feet. Take off your shoes and put them on the grass or sand. Take some deep belly breaths. If you are a beginner, try breathing in for three, holding for three and then breathing out for three. Do this ten times. Listen to your favourite song and try to pick all the instruments. Eat mindfully. Turn off devices and focus just on your meal. Take note of the textures and tastes of each bite. Listen to a mindful meditation. @smilingmind have some great programs that are targeted for specific ages and genres. Sit or lay in the sun for 10 minutes with your eyes closed. Feel the sun on your face. Listen to the sounds of nature. What can you smell? I hope you all have a lovely day
06.01.2022 S U M M E R F U N We are halfway through the summer school holidays and you may not have even been out yet. Lockdown is finishing up for the northern zone of the Northern Beaches tonight . We thought we would put together a little list of activities for you to enjoy before school goes back. You will want to save this post for future reference. Head to your favourite beach for a swim, picnic or some beach sport. Go for a walk around Narrabeen Lake.... Catch a movie at your local cinema. Grab some friends for mini golf. Go for a bike ride. You can hire them in Narrabeen. Take a hike through Ku-Ring-Gai National Park. Do the Spit to Manly walk. Hire a kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board. Eat at any of the amazing restaurants or cafes on the beaches. Remember to always mask up when indoors. Take your hand sanitiser with you. Keep your distance. Don't go out if you are unwell. If you have any other suggestions of activities or want to mention your favourite cafe/restaurant, tag them below so others can see!
05.01.2022 F L E X I B I L I T Y A lot of people have been eager for 2021 to start so they can have a fresh beginning from such a tough year. What I have been thinking about though is that 2021 still has a lot of challenges ahead. Half of the Northern Beaches is still in lockdown. Some interstate borders have been closed. We are still unable to travel overseas. It is mandatory to wear a mask in NSW. School, local and professional sport have restrictions. 2021 will not feel like life pr...ior to March 2020 for some time. Hence my theme of flexibility. It's about going with the flow as much as possible and understanding that things will change each month. A lot of these changes will be out of our control but how we react is within our control. There is no point stressing about not being able to play your favourite sport or visiting family interstate. I am not saying you can't get upset, because trust me, I am devastated that it's been nearly a year since I have seen my parents. What I am saying is that we can use our energy in a more positive way. I will be providing tips throughout the year of how to overcome challenges, in particular, ones we can't change. Another reason I have chosen flexibility as a theme is because I am heading back to part time work as a teacher this year. I will need to be flexible to maintain balance between work, business, being a mum and wife, friendships and self care. What theme or word are you using for the year? Who wants to hear more about how to be flexible, balanced and resilient?
