12.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week 2021 More than a word! Reconciliation takes action! Reconciliation Australia’s theme for 2021, More than a word. Reconciliation takes action, urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.... Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians as individuals, families, communities, organisations, and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To our new supporters, please remember the importance of privileging and amplifying First Nations’ voices as you add your voice to calls for reconciliation and justice. We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. 2021 marks twenty years of Reconciliation Australia and almost three decades of Australia’s formal reconciliation process. 02.01.2022 One of our Functional Recovery Managers did an interview with Lemonade Journal, heres some of what was said! Redcliffe Area Youth Space is an organization that helps adolescents in the Redcliffe area of Australia, focusing on the mental health of adolescents; in addition to helping vulnerable and injured teenagers and giving them support and care in their groups, the organization also offers different levels of plans and Rebuilding a life We are honored to have invited A...llen, Functional Recovery Manager at Redcliffe Area Youth Space, to share with us the story of Youth Space and the experiences and methods of supporting and accompanying youth. During the interview with Allen, we got more aware of the Youth Space support model for local youth; Allen also works with social workers and psychological counselors in order to provide well-known mental health services for adolescents. When asked about the fee mechanism for professional consultancy services Allen said that they did not think that helping young people was a matter of charge, and that the services were provided free of charge, which also surprised us and reflected on Taiwan, how should we provide such resources for young people? Allen emphasized that Be authentic is the best solution to building a bridge of trust with young people: whether face-to-face or on the Internet, it is the help to help young people get through the lows. In the face of different young people, apart from having to feel sympathetic to different situations, understand their culture, interests, strength, to help talk about them, and also enable young people to understand themselves and love themselves. For example, Allen said he was also trying to learn about the popular culture of J-pop, K-pop, and other teenagers, so that he could talk more about the topics between himself and the teenagers . He also mentioned that the strength and dialogue given by peers are very different from the form of consultation, which enables young people to be more willing to talk to them and to eliminate their grief in a relaxed way. Though there is less face-to-face temperature on the line, through careful conversation, understanding the mood behind the message and the reasons, step-by-step understanding of the young people can still have some results. Finally, Allen suggests that we can catch the eyes of teenagers through community platforms, films, etc. and also design Safety Plan forms to help teenagers who are experiencing lows find the right pipes for help. Here are a few interviews key points : Be Authentic Engagement Safety Plan Remember to leave a message to see the online interview photo! #LemonadeJournal #Young
