25.01.2022 In 2018 our Dendrobium (mortii x kingianum) 'Babylon' received an OSCOV Cultural Certificate. This hybrid was subsequently registered as D. Coolart Conquest. This is an unusual hybrid and 'Babylon' is particularly unusual because it flowers well. A keiki has been established and grown on for quite a few years. It is now being offered on ebay, ending December 8, 2019.

This means that Ebay listings that started before the change and end after the change will finish one hour later tonight. 21.01.2022 Here are two examples of Sarcochilus (George Colthup x fitzgeraldii) which flowered for the first time last year. Flowers from this cross have been consistently large with loads of substance.

19.01.2022 We’re wondering if anyone has experience with Dendrobium Aussie Nugget that they would like to share. This cross is D. monophyllum x D. fleckeri and was registered by Phil Spence in 2002. Is anyone growing them and if so, under what conditions? Has anyone flowered them?

15.01.2022 Peter has decided to sell his second largest Bulbophyllum exiguum. It's currently listed on ebay, ending Sunday May 17. These love growing on brown tree fern. 08.01.2022 We are continuing to have seedlings of Dendrobium Memoria Garth Griffith come into flower, in some cases while still in a 40mm tube. Each one is bigger and bluer than the previous. Where will this end?

07.01.2022 The Hanging Garden is pleased to announce the registration of Dendrobium Memoria Garth Griffith. Until his death in 2017, Garth a regular volunteer at the nursery and a good friend to all. This cross was made using Mingle's Sapphire 'Garth' (which belonged to Garth) x gonzalesii 'Babylon'. The first of the seedlings has flowered in a 68mm tube and we eagerly await more to see how much variation there is. The seedlings are vigourous, cold growing and available on ebay and our website https://www.thehanginggarden.biz

05.01.2022 We are currently offering a very special flask on ebay - Dendrobium tetragonum v cacatua ('Babylon Lime' x 'MS'). The photographs show the actual parents used and the contents of a similar flask which was deflasked this week. 04.01.2022 The Hanging Garden has a long tradition of growing great Dendrobium falcorostrum. We have a special flask available on ebay (ending July 1) - Dendrobium falcorostrum 'Anembo' x 'Gladiator'. This one isn't our own breeding but certainly ticks all our boxes for D. falcorostrum. 02.01.2022 We’re disappointed that Covid-19 has prevented OSCOV from holding the Melbourne Orchid Spectacular 2020. Otherwise the plants would all have been groomed to look at their best and we would be putting the final touches on The Hanging Garden display right now. Here is a seedling and a two specimen plants which would certainly have been there. See you next year!!!
