25.01.2022 REOPENING MONDAY 16th of June 2020 New Covid Safety policy to follow soon. I’ve been doing a few courses behind the scenes as you can never be too careful as well as rearranging my salon around a bit and trying to restock but as you can imagine with a lot of states opening at the same time a few things haven’t come yet or are still unavailable so that’s why I’ve had to postpone opening.

19.01.2022 A few years ago I did my microblading training with Phibrows in Sydney. Passed all my levels, practical models and got my certificate but didn’t think my patterns were that great and I hate not being good at something I do! But I ended up getting busy with other things and got pregnant so practicing never seemed appealing. And the fear of hurting my customers (I’m so scared of pain myself) plus not practicing meant I was never gonna get any better so I just didn’t offer it as... a service because charging people and giving them subpar results is not me. Fast forward a few years, the fact that I’d wasted 1000’s of dollars and was still crap at something bothered me I had been sitting on the idea of doing machine work as it suited more skin types and having done an extra course in manual shading I liked how ombré brows looked when done softly but seeing as I wasn’t any good with microblading the idea of wasting even more money and failing at another thing held me back. I thought about just doing just powder brows first and that it would be my last shot. If I sucked then I’d know for sure cosmetic tattooing wasn’t for me. The brows course was set for March 2020 in Melbourne but as you know COVID hit, that never happened so I didn’t think anymore of it, maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Luckily late November one last spot come up for January 2021 for machine brows, liners and lips so I took it as a signed and enrolled. I made it to Melbourne and was very lucky I was able to do my 3 weeks training in 2 weeks and do all my models one on one with my trainer and make it back to Adelaide before Melbourne went into another lockdown. Turns out i’m actually not too bad with a machine, in fact I quite like it. I feel like I’m colouring-in so it feels relaxing for me.

19.01.2022 So now I’m qualified and confident and ready to start taking clients but I don’t have a proper portfolio. I only want to use pictures of my work that I did all by myself from start to finish. So I need models! If you or someone you know needs brows, liners or lips done, spread the word. I’m offering heavily discounted services if you let me use your before and after photos/videos for my portfolio and advertising. You will need 2 sessions, the initial ($100) and touchup ($100)... 6-8wks after. *You must agree to before and after pictures/videos to be used for advertising purposes to qualify for the special offer. For new tattoos only, no touching up other’s work, correction or colour boosts. To book, a $50 booking fee is required to secure your appointment time and date. Transferable once if rescheduled 48 hours before appointment but non refundable if cancelled less than 24 hours. No shows will not be able to book again in the future unless their missed appointment has been paid for in full. Salon is in Richmond 5033. 15.01.2022 So a little update on my business post Covid. Weddings and events were effected real bad obviously with all the restrictions and I did not like the stress of not knowing if I’d be available for date changes so I didn’t take any new bookings hoping to fill in my affected brides first (the last one being in May this year so hopefully my white hairs will slow down now). This meant I had alot of time off to think about me, my family and my little business... My beauty work was effected but it was much easier to reschedule clients so less stress. My favourite service to perform is dermaplaning. I find the planing part to be really relaxing and I love that it’s an instant result for clients. I’ve not meet anyone who doesn’t like it. I like having my weekends free, sleeping in and spending time with my family. Early morning weddings (after a long hiatus) was making me anxious as I was afraid I couldn’t wake up at 4am anymore. I realised that I hate driving! I loved that all my beauty clients came to me instead and I didn’t have to stress about being stuck in traffic or lost My back stopped hurting with less hair and makeup work but my eyes have gotten worse with lash extensions. So it made sense to me that at this point in my life it’s weddings that I needed to give up. I wanted to officially announce that I will no longer be doing makeup. Part of that was because it’s expensive to continually restock and buy new makeup and it’s heavy carrying both a hair and makeup kit and the chair and light! None of my current bookings will be affected. My last makeup wedding will be in January 2022 but I will continue with hair for weddings (for now) because I’ve always loved it more than makeup. As you may have guess it’s beauty work that I’d like to do more of! The time off also meant I was able to attend a lot of trainings both in person and online so I will be adding more skin services shortly! (unfortunately some of my stock is still unavailable due to covid). Thank you for reading to the end of my thoughts! And I hope you continue to follow me on my journey into skin.
