20.01.2022 Hatchet. One of the books I return to again and again when I need a reminder on authentic writing for middle-graders. It’s good writing for humans, really, not ...just middle-graders. It came out when I was 12 but I didn’t read it till I was in my 30s. The writing is so raw and sinewy and honest, it feels like the wild that Brian Robeson is lost in. It makes me want to write another story set in the wild. See more
