25.01.2022 **THINK GOLF STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY** The Think Golf student appreciation day is scheduled for Thursday 10th of December with a 4:00pm shotgun start. The event will be a 2 person Ambrose over 6-Holes (Holes 1-6 on the front 9). The twist is, all players can only carry 3 clubs which includes the putter!!! ...and minimum 2 tee shots per team member. Prizes for winning teams and pin shots on Hole 5 will be up for grabs, Think Golf will do a random teams draw and handicapping f...or the event. $12 green fee will be available for students who are not golf club or lifestyle members. 24.01.2022 Small amount of rain and strong winds greeted members for the Saturday competition today. Scoring was difficult with only 9 players returning 36 or more stableford points. In the men’s event John finished runner up in B-Grade with 36 points and Ed grabbed a top 10 overall finish with 35 points. In the ladies Mel had a comfortable win with 36 points followed by Brandi with 34 points for a second placed finish. Gladstone host BITS in the men’s pennant tomorrow, best of luck gen...ts. 23.01.2022 Before getting into todays results I was asked by a someone today why they haven’t been mentioned in these Saturday comp posts - straight forward reply, I use this platform to acknowledge and highlight the achievements of players I’ve coached, and there might be the odd mention of others such as low round of the day etc. OK that said let’s see who turned up the performance meter and played some very good golf today! Graeme continues his outstanding form with 42 points for an ...overall win and a comfortable B-Grade victory. Paul came in second overall and a win in C-Grade with 41 points, a rise into B-Grade is on the cards for this guy. Mick with a tidy 38 points, Andrew & Andrew both come in with 37 points. In the ladies, WOW!!! Bec roared home with a mammoth 45 points for an easy overall win and not far behind was Carolyn with an impressive 42 points for runner up and Lindy claiming third place on a countabck with 42 points. Jean banked a solid round with 38 points. Well done to everyone, looking forward to the VW Scramble tomorrow. See more

21.01.2022 Breaking News!!! Simulator #2 will now be open for play starting tomorrow (13th January) 8:00am-4:00pm at the Gladstone Golf Club. The bay can be hired for $35 per hour, maximum 4 players. Bookings are essential, contact the ProShop 07 4978 1200.

20.01.2022 Thankyou to all players who attended the first Think Golf Ambrose Shoot Out held at the Gladstone Golf Club this afternoon. Sounds like everyone enjoyed the playing format and novelty holes. Congratulations to the winners Anne & Jean in the ladies event, Andrew & Hayden in the men’s event. I played so couldn’t capture all the video/photos, however....... I did record one of the players in our group getting into a stouch with The Big Easy and a great little chuckle from his partner!!! Thanks again, stay tuned for next shoot out dates in 2021.

20.01.2022 XMAS Ambrose today at Gladstone Golf Club! Top 10 in the men’s event, Mick, Steve & Steve, Scott & Dion, well done lads. In the ladies Brenda had a win, Bindy & ProShop Trish picked up third place. Single Stableford next Saturday, don’t forget to book golf carts because the new ones are very popular. Happy golfing everyone!!!

It could be a drive that fly’s like a soaring eagle, a bunker shot that lands like a butterfly with sore feet or it could even describe how one of the GGC members looked when they took a tumble out of their own golf cart recently ..........MAJESTIC. 13.01.2022 Quick reminder for players attending the Think Golf Ambrose Shoot Out tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 10th Dec) 4:00pm shotgun start Holes 1-6 Player briefing at 3:50pm 3 club ambrose over 6 Holes *3 clubs, not 3 clubs and a putter ... Starting hole, handicaps & partners have been allocated Presentations after the event and the bar will remain open until 7pm! If you’re a late withdrawal please let me know so I can amend the draw. Looking forward to catching up with everyone!

10.01.2022 Couple of members dropped in at the right time and helped test the new golf simulators at Gladstone Golf Club. They teed it up at Augusta for a quick 9-Holes and the scores were tied! A likely rematch I’m thinking.

10.01.2022 New year, new trophy mascot! Great to see some green grass around the course for the first monthly medal of 2021 and there were plenty of good scores. Steve M with an excellent 67 nett for runner-up in B Grade, his buggy parter Steve B also with a 67 nett. Dave & Des both came in with a tidy 68 nett. Michael & David finished on 70 nett to pick up some rundown money.... In the ladies event Julie 71 nett, Anne 72, Sandy 72 and Carolyn 73 all posted a top 10 finish. Well done to all players! 07.01.2022 It's competition time!!! To celebrate 1 year at the Gladstone Golf Club I want to know your golf word for 2021. There’s been plenty I’ve adopted over the years such as pure, mint, boondi, spanked etc. Best golf word will receive a $25 ProShop voucher redeemable at the Gladstone Golf Club and the winner will be chosen Wednesday 6th January. Looking forward to some crackers!

06.01.2022 Wow it was tough to pick up a prize in today’s Monthly Medal with all winners in the nett 60’s and rundown at par, there’s certainly a couple of large handicap reductions on the way. Solid rounds from Jason and Graeme posting nett 67’s in B-Grade, good to see Paul score a tidy nett 68 in C-Grade and Brett come in with a handy nett 69. Andrew finally put one on the board and Scott continues his good form both posting nett 70’s. Low round of the day again went to Jason with +1 ...off the wand. In the ladies event Jean took out Div 1 with a tidy nett 67 closely followed by Julie with a nett 68. Looking forward to catching up with all the members again at next weeks Single Stableford event. 05.01.2022 The greens have recovered well at GGC, fast conditions for today’s stroke round. Shane with an excellent round for a 65 nett and runner up in B-Grade. Graeme continues his form with a 70 nett and a run at playing A-Grade in the new year! Mick with his first ever eagle and a tidy 70 nett. Low round of the day to another Mick with 68 (-2) off the wand - should be playing pennants and giving it to the Bilo lads!... Well done to Mel in the ladies event posting a 69 nett for the win.
