25.01.2022 Visited a nursery yesterday ... it reminded me of what I’m working to grow

24.01.2022 The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished. ~ Deng Ming-Dao, Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony Picture credit @poets

20.01.2022 From discord comes order. It’s the law of nature

18.01.2022 The problem, of course, with the idea of nature versus nurture was that it posed a choice between determinisms. ~ James S.A. Corey, Babylon's Ashes

16.01.2022 Ciao for now...

13.01.2022 The Tale of 3 Runs = Self Regulation ... a little like life really! Run 1: 5km very hilly Trail Run event in the rain Run 2: 14km Trail Event - stretch to my endurance and with restricted calorie count Run 3: 35min recovery on grass ... These graphs map the time in each ‘intensity zone’ for each run. Suffice to say they are very different. They are for Saturday, Sunday and Monday just gone. I started jogging (mostly walking) approx 10 weeks ago (Dec 2019). The overall focus was to average 10 000 steps a day and invariable required auditory stimulation 95% of the time (podcasts, audible books, music). The discipline to ‘go slow’ was incredibly hard in ‘Run 3’, whilst 10 weeks ago in was incredibly hard to jog for 35mins! ‘Run 1’ is the 6th time I’ve run the same course - I am now 4.5mins quicker. ‘Run 2’ is the longest run I have done in that time - 1hr 42mins trail run with 230 others. I had to walk a number of small hills. The mud, view and people were stunning. This one was bloody hard - and I sculled a coke at the end. I am 10kg lighter than when I started and never listen to music to keep me out there now. SO WHAT? This ability to self regulate is so important in life - with everything... know when to go hard and put the hammer down, know when to pace oneself and know when to ‘actively’ rest. If we don’t our results simply are not sustainable and we certainly don’t set ourselves up for ongoing improvement. The aim is to THRIVE, not just survive. Balance is bullshit, getting the pace and timing right is everything in life. Email me at [email protected] to explore ‘how to get your pacing in business right’

13.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Ask your neighbour how they are going if you can. Leave a hand written note. Call. Smile in passing. If we go to the shops can we grab something for each other... No matter what our differences. ... #togetherwerise

02.01.2022 Found a path, a bush track, actually it was an off shoot to one I had done before, it turned steeply down through trees and was covered in spider webs ... I followed it. I came to a closed gate and went around it, following the dirt road, freshly minted with tractor tracks. It opened to this.... Question everything. Don't try to emulate someone else's path. Look at what you have, the tools you have, the place you're in; know the rules, and break them. ~ Noelle Stevenson

01.01.2022 May you find time to move and seperately to sit quietly this weekend
