We have worked with people well within the healthy weight range but still have a distorted view of themselves - often because they have been dieting from a young age -- and others whose Doctors have told them they need to lose weight and yet they LOVE the person they see in the mirror. So what makes the difference?

19.01.2022 The majority of people tell us that they want weight loss and to be healthy. To me, it is SO much more than losing some weight. It is more about who you become when you are sustaining a healthy weight... - How are you holding yourself differently now that you are sustaining this healthy weight? - What else does it now allow you to do? - Who does it allow you to be? ... - What are you able to focus on now with the obsessive thoughts of food and weight having disappeared? - How is it impacting on your communications and all of your relationships? Do you find that your answers here are more inspiring than just getting to a certain weight? Our experience has been that if getting to a certain weight is the only motivation, that if we get there the motivation often disappears. Make your Motivation Bigger than the number on the scales today!

16.01.2022 American researchers recently confirmed that training the MIND may be just as powerful as training the body for fatloss. They divided chronically stressed, overweight and obese women into two groups. Both received basic education on healthy eating and... exercise. But one of the groups also received training in "mindfulness" of their eating habits. They found that those women in the group that received the mental training had greater reductions in dangerous abdominal fat. NEITHER group was put on a "diet." This jives well with our own experience. Our personal clients who invest time in the mental side of their health and fitness make faster and longer lasting progress than those who don't.

12.01.2022 Just had the pleasure of witnessing a client adopt the changes into her life after our first session. In her words a "Mini-Miracle" occured, and of course something that each and every one of us is capable of....The side effects have been: No more guilt from what she "shouldn't" eat, food losing the control it felt that it had and not feeling that the journey is overwhelming and painful but instead, being focused on sustainable health! 11.01.2022 Had the privelage of sharing the message with 40 ladies at Healthy Inspirations Balcatta last night. Their members travel from all over, which says a lot about what they do. It is different from anything that is out there - if you are looking for somewhere to go where the staff are focused on supporting you, I suggest getting in contact with them!

10.01.2022 We have had a few members over the past week share that they have been associating exercise with either inconvenience, hard work and unproductive. Step 1: Get really clear on your bigger picture and this will support you in changing your focus from seeing it as a chore, to something that will support you with what you desire for YOU.
10.01.2022 Would you like a 7 day holiday? A break from the exhausting thoughts of food and weight? Are you up for a challenge? Ok, open up your fridge and cupboard, all the food that you love will still has a place so leave it right there. Anything else that you eat because you have been told you should: no fat, low calorie, un-tasty diet food - put it in the waste instead of on the waist. Just for the next 7 days eat food that you love, eat it mindfully, enjoy it without guilt. If w...hat you've been doing isn't working - then you have nothing to lose. 06.01.2022 Our bodies tell us when they are tired, full, hungry...... When I asked the question at our last workshop, "What would happen if you listened to your body, checked in and ask, do I really feel like this? and if the answer is yes, then have it, on one condition. That it is eaten mindFULLY and really enjoyed (guilt free)." ...the answer that I received, was something we hear quite often...... "I would not be able to stop, and I would end up fatter." Well, an interesting thing happens when NO food is off limits -- all of a sudden it loses its appeal and the control it feels like it has over you, disappears. Think about it, where else in your life would you listen to someone that told you that you can't have something you liked??? So, try it on - For 1 week only! What do you have to lose. Remember: Ask - Am I physically hungry? Could it be thirst? Do I really want it? and if the answer is yes. Eat MindFULLY and ENJOY!

One thing we know from those who have successfully lost and maintained their weight, is that the answer is not in external solutions that treat the symptom only. Also, the answer is not a 'one-size-fits-all', it is 'UNIQUE' to you. No two people are the same yet we often follow the mainstream solutions that don't work. Question: How many weight loss attempts actually addressed the root cause of the weig...ht so that your results are permanent? Worth thinking about... Enjoy your Sunday.
