25.01.2022 Dear Patients, Thirlmere Medical Practice will continue to provide health services to the local community. Everyone coming to the practice will be screened prior to entry for the safety of our staff and community - Please call when you have arrived for your appointment. We are currently offering telehealth services to our patients, where the doctors can do consultations over the phone. Some services still require patients to come into the practice such as vaccinations, dres...sings or other services where patients are required to be physically present. The practice will remain open Monday to Friday between 8:30am 6:00pm and can be reached on 4681 8171. Stay safe & stay home as much as possible!

12.01.2022 COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update CALL FIRST - 02) 4681 8171 Please call prior to presenting to the practice if you: - Are experiencing a fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath OR - Have returned from overseas within the past 14 days OR... - Have had close contact with a confirmed or suspected case of Coronavirus. It is important that we try to limit the spread of disease by avoiding having patients with respiratory symptoms in our waiting room. We are able to offer telehealth consults for some patients. If you are experiencing severe symptoms please go to Bowral (4861 0200) or Campbelltown (4634 3000) Emergency, or call an ambulance on 000. It is important that you call ahead so that the department can prepare for your arrival. Additional information can be obtained from the Coronavirus Hotline (1800 020 080) or the Healthdirectline (1800 022 222) Phone Consults Medicare rebated Teleheath consultations are available for certain patient groups: - Patients > 70 years old - Pregnant women and parents with new babies <12 months old - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders > 50 years old - Patients with chronic medical conditions or reduced immunity - Patients in self-isolation due to exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 case or recent overseas travel (returned within the past 14 days) Please call reception to book an appointment for a Telehealth consultation. Non Urgent Consultations To limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19, we would ask that patients postpone all non urgent consultations until a later date. For example: - routine skin checks (unless concerned regarding a specific lesion) - Health Checks - Non Urgent procedures Consultations for issues such as routine referrals, blood results, and prescriptions can be completed over the phone for eligible patients. We will advise further as the situation progresses.

10.01.2022 Patients and Carers, We are very happy to announce that we have a new Doctor joining our Practice team. Dr. Lima Afrin graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery from Jahurul Medical College in Bangladesh in 2004, before moving to Australia with her family in 2005 to continue her training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In addition to diagnosis and treatment planning, chronic disease management, and emergency care, Dr. Afrin has e...xperience in mental health and medical research. A particular area of interest for Dr. Afrin is rural and remote medicine. Dr. Afrin will be starting at the Practice on Tuesday the 12th of November. Her consulting days will be Tuesday and Friday, from 10:00am until 6:00pm. If you would like to make an appointment to see Dr. Afrin, please ask one of our helpful reception staff.
