24.01.2022 A little reminder https://youtu.be/MMBh-eo3tvE

24.01.2022 We will remember them.

22.01.2022 Saw several of our VIEW members enjoying a visit to Ron and Sandy Brenchley's beautiiful garden today. It is a riot of spring colour.

18.01.2022 So many NSW communities affected by this disastrous rain event.

16.01.2022 We're back!! Our first lunch meeting since March. It was great to welcome so many members. Many thanks to WBRSL staff who had set up the room and organised the service to comply with the covid regulations and to our members who co-operated happily with the requirements.. We were finally able to welcome our newest member, Maria who actually joined in March, celebrate September's birthdays and have a successful monthly raffle.. It was great and we hope more members will feel able to come along in October when we will have a market stall - lots of baked goods, plants and craft work to raise much needed funds for our sponsored students.

16.01.2022 Well 2021 is off to a good start with our first outing in 12 months. Thanks to Jan and Irene for organising the morning at Glenbernie Orchard, Darkes Forest. Our tour of the orchard by tractor was fun and the weather gods were kind to us. All our questions were answered by Cam. We were able to pick some fruit and see first hand the damage caused by birds to the crops. Back at the Apple Shack, after the tour, there was plenty of time to shop for fresh, local apples, ciders and other interesting products. Then it was off to Altitude 1148 at Bulli Tops for lunch. It was a great way to spend the morning and at the same time support a local business.

16.01.2022 Hi Everyone, At the beginning of the month we had a committee meeting and decided it would be good to restart our monthly meetings. Unfortunately over the last fortnight NSW has been experiencing a resurgence of Covid 19. In light of this we have decided to postpone our return to meetings for another month, hopefully on the first Wednesday in September. It is disappointing but better to be safe than sorry. We will keep you informed via our news letter and email Stay well everyone.

12.01.2022 Huge thank you to Sandy and Ron Brenchley for opening their beautiful garden and their neighbours and friends for their help in aid of Thirroul VIEW Club. They raised $1336 which they generously donated to us to support the students we sponsor through The Smith Family's Learning for Life program.

08.01.2022 Members enjoy a social craft morning each month working on various projects or if they prefer a variety of board and cards games.

08.01.2022 Bega Evening VIEW Club welcomed November meeting at Kianinny Cabins with lots of fun and unusual activities - learning to hop in a canoe and showing our ponchos.

05.01.2022 Tickets in our raffle for the beautiful queen sized rug and cushions are still available. Now that we are able to get together with our friends and neighbours you might like a book to give them a chance too.. You can get them at the August meeting or from me if you give me a call.

04.01.2022 Hello Butterflies, good news!!! We held our first committee meeting today since lockdown. Following advice from VIEW and the latest NSW Government guidelines we are able to get together again. Happy days!!! Our first meeting is planned for August 5th. The auditorium is large enough to accommodate us as it complies with the 4 sq. metres per person rule There will be a few changes when entering the club and the auditorium also with money collection but these will be explained in the forthcoming newsletter so make sure you read it when it arrives. Looking forward to seeing you all, it's been a looong time.

02.01.2022 Anyone remember the poet Pam Ayres? Well, she's 73 and still going strong. This is her latest ode to coronavirus... I'm normally a social girl I love to meet my mates But lately with the virus here... We can't go out the gates. You see, we are the 'oldies' now We need to stay inside If they haven't seen us for a while They'll think we've upped and died. They'll never know the things we did Before we got this old There wasn't any Facebook So not everything was told. We may seem sweet old ladies Who would never be uncouth But we grew up in the 60s - If you only knew the truth! There was sex and drugs and rock 'n roll The pill and miniskirts We smoked, we drank, we partied And were quite outrageous flirts. Then we settled down, got married And turned into someone's mum, Somebody's wife, then nana, Who on earth did we become? We didn't mind the change of pace Because our lives were full But to bury us before we're dead Is like a red rag to a bull! So here you find me stuck inside For four weeks, maybe more I finally found myself again Then I had to close the door! It didn’t really bother me I'd while away the hour I'd bake for all the family But I've got no flaming flour! Now Netflix is just wonderful I like a gutsy thriller I'm swooning over Idris Or some random sexy killer. At least I've got a stash of booze For when I'm being idle There's wine and whiskey, even gin If I'm feeling suicidal! So let's all drink to lockdown To recovery and health And hope this awful virus Doesn't decimate our wealth. We'll all get through the crisis And be back to join our mates Just hoping I'm not far too wide To fit through the flaming gates!
