09.01.2022 St Helena is an island off Brisbane in Moreton Bay and was a prison from the 1860s. Water storage was essential. They originally used brick-lined underground cisterns to hold water and rainwater tanks are still a dominant feature. The last photo is the original olive grove from which all the St Helena olives are descended.

08.01.2022 Energy used to make up about one-third of the cost of mains water, with the recent hike in electricity charges it is probably more now. The relationship between energy and rainwater is not intuitive, despite the additional energy use of the pump household energy use usually decreases with rainwater harvesting. Find out why! Don't miss out on the Adelaide Energy and Water breakfast on 26 October. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/energy-and-water-tickets-36
