25.01.2022 Sometimes well-meaning (and sometimes not well-meaning!) comments are thrown in our direction. It seems particularly pertinent during pregnancy and postpartum. For some reason, people think that once you are pregnant or have had a baby, your body is open for their comments and opinions. Whether that be the size of your belly, breasts, your sex life, your vulva... it goes on and on. Oh, and let’s not even get started about those uninvited belly rubs!... Please do not tell a mum how huge she is. Please do not tell her how tiny her belly is. Just don’t comment on a woman’s size in general, unless you think it would be appropriate to do while she’s not pregnant. Just refrain from making superficial comments about anyone’s body, I promise, she has seen the changes in herself. Have you experienced insensitive comments in your pregnancy or postpartum journey? 25.01.2022 TEST CASE NEEDED We know many human rights have been violated by their maternity ‘care’ providers since 1 January 2020. We have sought several solicitors legal ...advice, some academics and have another meeting with the commissioner this week. We need a low income woman who is eligible to access legal aid (ie on Centerlink) to be a test case for widespread obstetric violence. Examples might be; Stretch and sweep without consent Syntocin shot without consent Perineal bundle (non evidence based trial and no ethics approval = experiment) No birth pool until you consent to a VE Witholding pain relief ie epidural, morphine, gas, birth pool, shower Palpating tummy/fundal massage/cord traction without consent Declining recommended care triggering a vexatious Dept of Children’s services referral Threat or coercion of a c-section/induction unless.. Having to travel hours in labour Being separated from your baby/support person Formula being fed to baby without consent Grabbing breasts without asking Being told your baby will die unless.. Newborn tests/vaccines being given without consent Pls PM us if you can help and we can run by the complaint with our legal supports. #HRM2020

24.01.2022 An amazing review from one of my recent dad clients! Just a reminder that if we’ve worked together in any sense, I would so appreciate a review on Facebook or google or both

23.01.2022 SO excited for this release and even more excited that some locations have already SOLD OUT! #itstime for people to realise that women are not to blame for their birth outcomes, the system is!

17.01.2022 Did you know that only 0.3% of women in Australia have access to homebirth? I certainly didn’t before I jumped into the birth sphere, but knowing this now fires me up! Women deserve to have the information to decide where THEY want to birth, but more importantly, actually have the resources to access it. So many people are working behind the scenes to try and make this a reality and I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for the tireless work they do on behalf o...f all of us. Inspired by Claire Heenan Doula and Homebirth Awareness Week, I wanted to share some of my reasons for choosing homebirth with my belly babe. - The evidence backs it! Birthing at home for low risk (and often not low risk) women is statistically safer than birthing in the hospital system. - I deserve and my baby deserves continuity of care by a known care provider. - I feel safer in my home with the people who I have chosen to attend my birth. - I do not want to feel pressured by by policies and procedures in the hospital system. - I do not want a repeat of my treatment during my first birth. - I want my little guy to have the opportunity to be the first one to meet his little brother. - I trust in my body, my baby and support team and know that while flexibility is key, so is our experience. The community I have become a part of over the last couple of years is just divine. I have never felt so powerful, loved and supported. I’m always here for a chat about anything birthy, but specifically homebirth during this next week and beyond. #homebirthawarenessweek #homebirthmama #homebirthmidwife #homebirth #homebirthnsw #homebirthaustralia #birthathome #continuityofcare See more

15.01.2022 We’ve had a much needed long weekend away this weekend. I’ve found social media to be a weird and actually quite frustrating place to be at the moment so I’ve not been around much. Always here to answer questions and messages, just not as much mindless scrolling and instead being in the moment with my growing family.... I’m feeling so connected with my little womb mate at the moment, starting to notice patterns with his movements and just feeling like he’s real finally. Also preparing for my second last FULLY BOOKED Hypnobirthing Australia class next weekend before my own maternity leave starts. I am so excited to be sharing this amazing program with another group of parents wanting to achieve their goal of a positive, empowering birth experience, where THEY are in the drivers seat! 11.01.2022 Some great tips for pregnant mamas this summer! *takes notes*

11.01.2022 Just returned home from the Sacred Motherhood Circle facilitated by Claire Heenan Doula at her beautiful MoonCourt. Wow! My first official women’s circle and I was so lucky to sit with such strong, powerful and resilient women.... There were 4 of us pregnant mamas and 4 mamas in their postpartum period, all of us completely connected, holding space for anything that arose. The magic in a space like this is seriously underestimated and undervalued. Thank you so much for having us Claire and facilitating such a beautiful space and meeting. Can’t wait for my next circle! 09.01.2022 Happy 4th wedding anniversary to the love of my life. My biggest cheerleader, my fiercest defender and the one who always has my back. Sure, we had to go back and look at our wedding photos to remember the date but so much has happened since this amazing day when we became husband and wife.... So excited to be doing life with you Hello Sweetheart #weddinganniversary #anniversary #lovers #marriage #42degreeday #husbandandwife See more

06.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that Christmas and subsequent public holidays are NOT a medical indication for induction. Your baby will choose their birthday, when they’re ready, not when it’s most convenient for your care provider. A mama told me recently that she asked her care provider what the risks of induction were and she was told that there were NONE! This is completely false and flat out dangerous information.... There are risks to you AND your baby when it comes to induction. I will be posting more about this next week See more
