01.01.2022 The last day of World Breastfeeding Week. I took this picture of Jes @jesifairy earlier in the year and I still haven't finished her full gallery. It was supposed to be five pictures but I couldn't control myself. I fell behind due to my little rainbow business and I am now in the process of re-edit because I hated the original ones. Hopeless. ... Breastfeeding is such a sensitive topic these days. I read so much information on cluster feeding, correct latches, mastitis and the health benefits of breastfeeding during my first pregnancy. I was well prepared - or so I thought. The books never told me how mentally draining exclusively breastfeeding is. The isolation can seem overwhelming. I remember feeding him in the car during hot summer days because I was terrified of having to feed him in public in case of judgement. Aside from that, breastfeeding came naturally to me; I love the bond it created between my babies and I. I honestly believe that a lot more women would breastfeed their babies with more education and support. We should be provided with less pamphlets about the health benefits of breastfeeding and more education on the actual process and mental health preparations. Women with children should be honest and supportive to new mothers. The struggle is real and my inbox is always open.
