09.01.2022 My guest this evening on 'This One Life- stories that shape you' is Brendan Stroud. His story is one of endurance and facing life's challenges. Growing up, Brendan experienced physical abuse that saw him leave home at a very young age-his life then veering off course where he was homeless, dabbling in risk taking behaviour and having minor encounters with the law. At age 22, Brendan had a life changing road accident that left him a paraplegic. It led him down an extremely men...tally, and physically challenging path. As part of the adjustment to his new life, Brendan found his spark in sport- becoming an elite sportsman in various sports. He went on to become the coach and captain of Collingwood Football Club's Wheelchair AFL team. Brendan is currently facing a new health battle. He is right in the thick of managing a cancer diagnosis. I am so grateful to share Brendan's story tonight on 89.9 LightFM at 9.30pm. 07.01.2022 This morning, during a 'normal' conversation, something incredibly amazing and healing happened. It took me by such surprise that I burst into 'happy' tears. They were tears that represented acknowledgement, forgiveness, and moving through and forward with my grief journey. It could not have come at a more significant time. I was SO grateful for this moment. It completely changed my day. Have you had a significant moment recently that just left you feeling really grateful? Sharon x
