03.01.2022 The name of my house is Ferndale, and absolutely in love with my new doormat from @textileandtwig ...thank you Cate x. Did you know our florist is named after the two sisters who lived here many years ago? The once weatherboard house is now mud brick, but essentially the same house recycled out of what could be reclaimed from the original building. Thistle and Fern Aitkin were daughters of Scottish immigrants, we are fortunate to know of some of their history and have photos and possessions that were left in the house.
