13.01.2022 HEALED | l i f e c h a n g i n g r e s u l t s Despite being perfect just the way they naturally are, some women come to us extremely self conscious about the colour of their lips, wanting to cover them up with lipstick all the time. Some are paranoid their lippy is coming off even just when talking, when eating or drinking, and many wouldn’t dare to leave the house without their lippy on Deeper skin tones (Type 3 - 6 on the Fitzpatrick scale) often present with... two toned lips. It’s common to have a darker brown toned upper lip and edges of the lower lip, and a lighter/ brighter pink/ purple tone in the centre. The brown is a mixture of the two types of melanin (skin colour) that presents strongly on the lips. To obtain a more even, universal lip colour, we densely tattoo strong yellow, orange or red pigments over the full lip which heals in under the upper layer of the skin and neutralises the darker brown colours, transforming to a soft pink. This lip tattoo technique is extremely advanced and there are not many Cosmetic Tattooists trained and experienced enough to take on melanin rich lips. Love the subtlety of a lash liner (even though I secretly wish she would let me tattoo an elegant wing!!!). It adds the tiniest bit of definition even with no other makeup....
