23.01.2022 For the third year running, we will have a band playing at one of the best festivals in the world. Hogan will be performing at Hohaiyan Rock Festival HoHaiYan Arts this July. 20.01.2022 A few years ago we toured this brilliant singer songwriter Sophie Koh to nearly every part of China. It was a marathon tour at the hottest time of year, and I still feel a bit guilty about how brutal it was on Sophie and her band. Like true Aussie rockers they just grinned and copped it, and played some great gigs. Now she has a new album, so go and buy it and listen...

18.01.2022 Exactly 4 years ago we toured DUNE RATS for 7 shows in China. What a hilarious show they played at 2 Kolegas in Beijing. After being in the country for 2 hours there was already a guy at the hotel with a massive bag of weed. Such resourcefulness. I was apprehensive about using their famous bong-smoking film clip as marketing material, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the video was already quite popular on youku. Many Chinese online commentators insisted they were sm...oking tobacco rather than marijuana, but I guess those kids don't know how brutal a baccy bong is, let alone over 10 in a 2-minute period. They played some very interesting shows - Xinxiang (where drinking with the bar owner and his crew is way more fun than the actual gig), Luoyang (check your map) - and a hilariously disorganised festival in Xi'an where it was impossible to find an alcoholic drink (we just went outside and bought numerous bottles of baijiu) and the organiser paid me the next day in crumpled 10 and 20 rmb notes (other bands didn't get paid or didn't bother coming). They did put us up in a nice hotel, and we got to see a Taiwanese popstar play in front of over 10,000 fans who were ALL forced to sit down before the show could commence in safety. Classic. 16.01.2022 The Smith Street Band China tour took place in September 2012. That's less than 5 years ago. Amazing to see how much effort they have put in since then. And here is another perfect album to follow up the last epic. I put it all down to being forced to watch the Parkway Drive DVD.
13.01.2022 A few years ago I booked this 9-show tour for Melbourne band Clowns These guys grew up in the same neighbourhood as me in Bayside in Melbourne, probably the least punk rock place on earth (except when Bodyjar played at the Sandy pub, yes that really happened), and today have released their AWESOME 3rd album Lucid Again. Been spinning it all day. Another band who toured China at the beginning of a life that has gone from strength to strength. Discipline, passion, work ethic and a sick live show. 02.01.2022 A few years ago we toured DUNE RATS through China. Like all our tours, it was weird and hilarious. Still remember the beijing show and laughing at how funny/good the songs were. Now they have a number one album. Congrats dudes. Well deserved.
01.01.2022 What a massive line up for the best festival in Australia. Took about 5-6 trips up to Lorne back in the early years, and did a trip to Tassie not too long ago.
