12.01.2022 Had the chance to squeeze a little pergola in last week. Usually you would build the pergola, then plant out underneath..... but that would make it too easy. So we had to build this OVER a very delicate garden. 150 cypress post are always a pleasure to work with. Added a centre notch to the middle beam just for my own entertainment Bowens Hastings hooked us up with a nice speedy delivery for a quick turn around. ... 10.01.2022 Nice little decking replacement completed in Mt Martha. Magic spot with amazing view, yet clients hadn't been out on the deck for 3 years Flimsy boards with 10-12mm spacings, lovingly replaced with 145x21mm #Cumaru (Brazilian Teak) decking. Cumaru is perfect for a second floor deck as no tannins to bleed out and stain everything underneath.... Joist protection added, fixed with stainless screws and many years of use ahead. Also replaced the balustrades and handrail with nice modern black spigots and rail. The black almost disappears, so no distraction from the view. Thanks Michael (Bowens rep extraordonaire), @bowens and Bowens Hastings for the beautiful timber. I thoroughly enjoyed working with it, and looking at it PS if you haven't tried the Irwin Quik-Grip decking tool attachments, get on board. But nothing that couldn't be overcome with planning and the right people. @s_f_plumbing_pty_ltd killed it, @brightrenovation supplied awesome products and our tiler cemented his hard earned reputation. @stegbar_au aluminium window slotted in beautifully to complete the transformation.
