25.01.2022 SMOKO AT YOUR LOCAL - Head over and join the group, shout yourself or your crew smoko at a local cafe/takeaway/restaurant and pop a pic up with the business tagged, so we can do our part to get our hospo community back on their feet after Covid-19. Invite your tradie mates to join the group and do the same!
25.01.2022 Dave, our Operations Manager, also represents Thomas Scaffolding on the board of the Great Lakes Educational Fund (GLEF). The fantastic opportunities that GLEF provide for the youth in our local community really aligned with our values, and we're honoured to be apart of it, especially after the inspirational stories heard from Saul Brady & Ashley Nielsen at the breakfast event held last Tuesday. Scholarships for the 2021 academic year are now open and will close on the 30 September 2020. Head over to the Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber for more info and details on how to apply.

20.01.2022 Being a construction company, the physical scaffolding work we do is classed as high risk, but as the statistics show, the high risk also extends to our mental health, with aussie construction workers 6x more likely to die from suicide than an accident at work. With today being RUOK Day and World Suicide Prevention day, it's a timely reminder of how important it is to not only be aware of your work mates & loved ones and conscious of any signs that they might need support, bu...t also to check in with yourself and see how your head space is and if you need to reach out. You definitely don't need formal training to ask how your mates are, but it might be handy for you to head somewhere like RUOK.org.au or mates.org.au/construction for more information so you can feel confident providing support, knowing where to seek help or starting a conversation that could save a life

13.01.2022 It's National Skin Cancer Action Week ... remember Slip, Slop & Slap? This weekend, the weather in Forster was a perfect taste of what we're in for this summer. As sensational as it was, it was a timely reminder of how powerful that sun can be, and how sun safety on and off site needs to be a priority. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. Every year in Australia skin cancers account for around... 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers. Around 2000 people die from this disease every year. However, more than 95% of skin cancer cases are caused by unprotected exposure to UV radiation from the sun, meaning it is a nearly entirely preventable cancer. Don't forget to Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek & Slide!!

11.01.2022 Check out this pic from the early 1990s in Tuncurry! Appreciation of colleagues, clients and the public is at the core of everything Thomas Scaffolding does. Our clients and the community provide us with the work that keeps us going and our amazing staff continue to deliver above and beyond. Many staff have helped shape who we are today, but we would like to take this opportunity to recognise Thomas Scaffolding’s humble beginnings and the foundation of the company.... Brian Thomas founded Thomas Scaffolding with his wife Christine. To grow and develop the business while raising four boys was a remarkable feat. Many business owners would agree that this is the most difficult period in a company’s life. Cheers to Brian and Christine! We are very grateful for their efforts and vision.
