13.01.2022 Sorry Day is held annually on 26 May to acknowledge the impact of forcible removal policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. The first Sor...ry Day was held on 26 May 1998, it marked the one year anniversary of the 'Bringing Them Home Report' being tabled in parliament. The 'Bringing Them Home Report' was the result of an inquiry into the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, The Stolen Generations. The report brought to light and examined the history of the Stolen Generations, and made 54 recommendations for moving forward including holding a national Sorry Day every year. Sorry Day is a day to remember the pain and suffering of successive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander generations but also a day to reflect on the resilience, power and healing in community. It is also a vital step in the long road to reconciliation. To learn more and hear survivors stories visit: healingfoundation.org.au/videos/ The Healing Foundation is a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that partners with communities to address the ongoing trauma caused by actions like the forced removal of children from their families.

06.01.2022 Making Ochre Paint this morning. Crushing the rocks and adding the right amount of water to form the consistency of a paste. We learnt the thicker the paste, the more intense the colour and the thicker the paint will be.
