We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. For emergencies please contact your General Practitioner, Cobar Hospital on 6936 2406 or Dr Caroline & Dr Charlie on 0428 612 302.... 20.01.2022 Due to the unreliability of the NBN at our premises, if you have been trying to get hold of us, please leave a message on our message bank and we will get back to you. Keep in mind we may be ringing from our mobiles which may appear as a private number. For the same reason, if we are talking to you and we are disconnected, please accept or apologies in advance. If we have your details we will call you back. Thank you for understanding while we are trying to get this fixed.

19.01.2022 To all of our wonderful patients, In these uncertain times we thought we would give you an update on the practice and precautions we are putting in place to protect you and our staff against the COVID-19 pandemic. As dental practices across NSW close their doors we will endeavour to service you for as long as we can. The ADA and AHPPC have reccomended that all practices move to Level 2 (Reduce) precautions. This places a procedural limit on the practice and excludes routine d...entistry such as cleans and fillings which require the high speed drill being performed so as to reduce the potential creation of aerosols which may drive the spread of the virus. While there are no confirmed cases in Cobar at this stage, prevention is better than the cure and we will do our bit as the rest of the country currently is. These procedural restrictions are likely to be ramped up in the coming weeks and we would encourage our patients to contact us if they have a toothache or even a niggle now before it is too late. At some point the shopfront may close as restrictions move along and the pandemic worsens but rest assured we will be on the end of the phone for consultations. If you have an upcoming appointment and you havent yet been contacted assume it is still going ahead until you hear from us. If you have any cold or flu symptoms please do not attend and contact us by phone! Stay safe all and we will keep you posted on any changes. Regards, The Team Thompson Family Dental

04.01.2022 Its more important than ever to be taking care of yourself! Cook yourself something nice (or support one of our local businesses still offering takeaway), take a shower, do your hair and most importantly, brush your teeth! Seriously guys, keep those pearly whites nice. Clean them twice a day and dont have too many snacks while youre watching Netflix! If you have a dental emergency give us a call on 02 6836 1761. We can still look after you if you are in pain. The Australia...n Dental Association has provided a good list of what constitutes a dental emergency, if you are unsure: A dental emergency is a situation that requires immediate treatment. It may involve conditions that cause severe pain, infection or directly affect your health. This can include: Swelling affecting your mouth, face and/or neck. Difficulty opening your mouth, swallowing or breathing (unrelated to COVID-19). Damage to your mouth or jaw following an accident or injury causing loss of a tooth or teeth being moved from their original position in the mouth. Severe dental pain that is affecting your sleep and/or does not subside with use of pain-relief medications. Tooth fracture where the nerve inside the tooth becomes exposed (which may or may not include bleeding). Ulcers present in the mouth for 3 weeks or longer. Wire or bracket fractures in orthodontic patients. Uncontrolled bleeding post-oral surgery. Patients referred by a doctor for medically necessary dental care or for urgent dental care prior to surgery that cannot be delayed. Treatment of a dental condition that can directly affect your health, for example, remove of an oral cancer lesion from inside the mouth.

03.01.2022 Due to intermittent power caused by this lovely storm and rain the surgery will be closed from 3pm this afternoon to protect the equipment. If you would like an appointment please leave a message and we will get back to you first thing in the morning! Stay safe the lightning is striking in town!
