23.01.2022 Mel joined the Royal Australian Navy late in her life after serving in the NSW police and NZ police. The day she joined and headed down to Jervis Bay for Offic...er training, she thought this was for the rest of her working life, some 15 years. Life had other plans. She loved the navy, her role, the adventures and travel, the missions, the team ... until being sexual assaulted, bullied and threatened by fellow officers / sailors. War would have been easier. Mel was medically discharged only 4 years after joining. She lost everything - her career, friends, income and home. She ended up sleeping in her car. In 2016, after being helped by Homes for Heroes, Mel joined Sam and 4 other veterans and her favourite ex-racehorse Baz at Kangaroo Valley to work on herself, find hope and regain her confidence. In the coming documentary, you will see how far Mel has come since then.

22.01.2022 80 % of horses bend better to the left than to the right. This is what can happen when you bend a right bender to the left when they are under pressure . Only the bars on the starting barrier ended this terrible drama.A better education of the handler could have stopped this before it started.

10.01.2022 I’ve been a professional horseman for 30 years, trained thousands of horses, I have huge box of tricks, I prefer tools, don’t ask me to make your horse jump, ...canter, Or canter on the correct lead when he is totally unbalanced, can’t even trot a balanced 20 metre circle. They aren’t machines, if you want instant results get a motor bike. I can muscle them with the best, but it leaves me hollow and disappointed with myself when I do it. Prepare your horse properly and the canter will be there. There are plenty of trainers out there who are either ignorant to correct training or are willing to sacrifice their morals. To make a horse do things. if that’s what you are after, don’t come to me. See more

02.01.2022 Dressage squad participants please note and pass on. As I said last week I am going to reduce groups from 5 levels to 3. Should a level have too many participan...ts I will create another group at that level. This week I’ll leave it to riders to decide which group they will fit into. But basically it would be group 1 walk, trot. classical dressage basics and principles. Group 2 walk, trot canter on the bit in a frame. Intro to laterals Group 3 basic laterals,walk,trot and canter. 01.01.2022 Ok guys so I’m going to run a course for veterans and first responders living with ptsd that will take place Tuesday’s and Fridays mornings from 930am to 1130a...m weekly we will be working with a couple of ex racehorses to re habilitated them and rehome them following their racing careers. There will be no cost however I will need a reasonable level of commitment. No prior horse experience is required. There will be limited places. It will be held in Helensburgh Nsw at my indoor facility. Starting Tuesday 27th October. Pm interest. See more
