23.01.2022 The diet industry is worth almost $200 Billion worldwide. It is also the only industry in the world that has a 95% failure rate, yet instead of the product being criticised for not delivering on its promises, the consumer is criticised. In such a biased culture, it's time to explore the facts about what being 'fat' actually means and find a healthier, more self-compassionate approach... Check out this months Blog: The Dodgy Returns Policy of the Failed Diet. https://www.thousandreasons.com.au//the-dodgy-returns-poli #nondietapproach #intuitiveeating #dietssuck #healthateverysize #fataintthatbad

20.01.2022 Have you ever felt guilty for eating something you 'shouldn't'? With all the conflicting opinions within the nutrition field on what is 'good' for you and 'bad' for you, it's easy to feel guilty about making the 'wrong' choices. But those choices aren’t always wrong for every situation. Changing your language around how you identify food can help you make decisions you won't beat yourself up over later.... Check out this guide designed to help you understand how to identify what you want and need, and take the judgment out of your food choices, so you can get back to enjoying your food for what it is! https://mailchi.mp/3a38cc0154d2/eat

20.01.2022 You're not eating enough of the good stuff, you're eating too much of the stuff you KNOW doesn't make you feel great, and you're really starting to feel it. You're tired, sluggish, unmotivated, and just not feeling good about yourself... You know as soon as you get started, you'll soon get back to feeling great, but you don't have the energy for a complete overhaul. ... All you could manage right now is one thing at a time... Deep down, you know the one thing that you need to change, and you know if that's all you need to do, you could do it, and you could do it right now... So that's what we're going to do, together, in THAT ONE THING challenge! We'll focus on THAT ONE THING, and we'll do it for a full 2 weeks before we do another. For 8 weeks, you'll choose a total of 4 'ONE THINGS' that will help keep you focused on what's important, and get you back to feeling your motivated, energetic, healthy, happy self. Start the challenge whenever you like, from NOW to June 30, 2021, Available on my website and the Wix Spaces app.

18.01.2022 The benefits of meditation and mindfulness are huge, and so important in our busy lifestyles these days, but so many of us wouldn’t know where to begin. We finish most of our bootcamps with a short mindfulness meditation, and there are many different types we have tried. I found a beautiful spot this morning on my walk through John Forrest NP and decided to take a moment to enjoy it using this really simple meditation technique using the senses. ... It sometimes known as the 5-4-3-2-1 and can be done as quickly or slowly as you like. For me, it went like this: 5 things I could see: 1. The soft mist coming off the water 2. A beautiful duck swimming towards me 3. The bright morning sunshine filtered through the trees 4. The soft green moss growing out of the cracks in the rocks 5. The fresh clear water flowing over the rocks 4 things I could hear: 1. The water bubbling as it manoeuvred downstream 2. The duck softly quacking to let me know it was there 3. Plentiful birds chirping away and flirting through the trees 4. An aeroplane flying overhead 3 things I could feel: 1. The soft breeze feeling cool against my face 2. The support of the cold rock I was sitting on 3. The feel of my new shoes supporting my feet 2 things I could smell: 1. The cool fresh bush air 2. The earthy combination of mud and water 1 thing I am most grateful for right now: Getting to peacefully sit and enjoy the most beautiful scenery, in beautiful weather, so close to home

18.01.2022 It’s safe to say that day 2 and 3 have been far better than day 1, with 30mms of rain and 35 knot winds to challenge our sense of adventure! Here are some of the highlights so far! #capetocape #adventure #capetocapeexplorertours #wildflowers #hikingthehighseas

16.01.2022 Last week I got my hair done! I know it might sound strange, but I feel more like me when my hair is brightly coloured. What do you do to feel like you?... #saturdayselfie #haircareisselfcare #happytobeme #ownyourself #youdoyou

15.01.2022 I'm very happy to be presenting at one of the 5 Creative Ripple Effect workshops in Mundaring, created by Vivian Paans. These workshops focus on self-care, resilience building, learning coping skills and changing the stigma around mental health for parents and young people. This program is for parents and caregivers of children of any age, and is such a fabulous incentive that is free for participants!... There are a few spots left for this Saturday's session, so check it out! (I will be presenting on the 17th of July :) ) https://fb.me/e/UFA7eIle

14.01.2022 It’s been a little quieter on my page of late... I’ve learnt over the years to take the time to plan properly, so that the rest of the year goes MUCH more smoothly I spent the weekend with a few very motivated women planning out our goals, and over the next few weeks I’ll be taking some time to implement them and bring them to life!... Fear not, my friends! I’ll be back with plenty of exciting stuff very soon. WATCH THIS SPACE

07.01.2022 What if... What if we gave up the notion that there's only one type of beautiful? What if we stopped believing that what we are allowed to wear is determined by our shape, size, and cholesterol levels?... What would actually happen? Would the world implode? Would there suddenly be a whole lot more ugly people walking around? Would we become more unhealthy? If we started acting like our bodies are beautiful at all sizes, what would change? I'm curious to know... What do you think?

06.01.2022 It might not look like much, but this salad is the BEST, most satisfying salad I've had in a long time! I don't have a recipe, because it didn't come from one (I like to make it up as I go along!) BUT, try this roast veg medley and add it to your next hearty salad or to your meal as a side. Dee-lishus! Roast Veg Medley.... I used these veggies, but you can choose your own favourite combo... 1 Sweet Potato 1/2 Purple Sweet Potato (Chopped into 2cm cubes, tossed in a bowl with Olive Oil, Salt + Pepper) 500g Field Mushrooms (Quartered, tossed in a bowl with Olive Oil and a teaspoon of fresh minced garlic) 1/2-3/4 Cauliflower (Chopped into small bite-sized pieces and tossed with melted butter) 1 Can Chick Peas (Drained and marinated in some freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice with olive oil, salt + pepper for at least 30 minutes) Roast in the oven on separate trays at 200 degrees C, until they're all slightly browned. YUM!! I added this to some fresh cucumber, corn, asparagus and some finely sliced tuscan kale (sauteed in the pan with lemon juice). It would be equally delicious mixed with fresh baby spinach and cooked quinoa! Enjoy! #delicious #tuesdaytreat #hearty #vegetarian #soogood
