25.01.2022 Thank you to Charlie Lebner and Enduro Oz for putting on a practice day and raised money for the Thowgla Valley Fire Brigade Fund.

22.01.2022 This time last week a crew of dedicated, hard working folk from Laing O'Rourke organised by Matt Christopher were on site in the Thowgla Valley helping rebuild fences destroyed by the devastating fires of January 2020. We can't thank them enough for the energy and hope they have brought to our community along with their generous donation of $10,800 which will go towards the establishment of the Thowgla Valley Fire Brigade and vital equipment that our community needs to secure... a more resilient future. A big thank you must go out to the following organisations who dug deep to support our fundraising efforts: Laing O'Rourke Carey Civil Contractors Metcalf Crane Services BK Labour Hire Pty Ltd Hitch Group #ThowglaFireBrigade #Thowgla #CorryongBlazes #VicFires #Thankyou

22.01.2022 So this arrived today, with a check for $750 and $100 cash for our friends in Thowgla.

21.01.2022 Hello everyone! Just thought I’ll update everyone on somethings we have had going on and shout out to to all that has got us this far. #aussiepumps #alburywodongamotorcycleenthusiastsclub

18.01.2022 Hi all, On Sunday at 5pm at the Thowgla Hall there will be representatives from Laing O’Rourke who would like to present a cheque to the Thowgla Valley community for donations they have collected totaling $10,800 to go towards the fire truck fund. Would be great for people to come along so we can all express our appreciation for their efforts. Thanks

17.01.2022 Hello Everyone!! Well it has been a very interesting year so far... first the bushfires and now covid-19! What else is going to get thrown at us.. On a good note, with the help of David Thwaites, Complete Sports Care and their patients have donated 100% of the revenue from all exercise classes held on the 1st of Feb to TVFB which amounted to $500. Awesome work!... http://www.completesportscare.com.au/ We also had a very nice donation from The United Kingdom which is terrific with everything happening. Virginia O'keeffe over in WA with the local quilters just keep on helping the TVFB as they have made a few more donations from raffles amounting to $340. A massive thank you from our community for everyone that has donated and raised funds to help so far!

15.01.2022 A big Thankyou to Warwick Lorenz from Aussie Pumps in helping out with 2x 3’’ Quick fill Pump units which gave us a great price and donated the hose and coupler kits. Couldn’t be more happier with the end result! This will greatly help the community and future generations to come with fighting bushfires. More pictures will come up later when stickers are on. #aussiepumps

13.01.2022 Awesome work getting done by big lake!

11.01.2022 Hello Everyone! I hope all of you are going well! The donations are still keeping on coming in which is amazing! Thank you to everyone that have helped our community along.... Our WA friends have been doing the rounds in spreading the word for us thanks to Myles O'Keeffe who got in touch with The Foodroom, raising funds of $850. Thanks to Ange and Andy Longmore, and the Foodie Crew in supporting this good cause and if anyone is over there pop in and say hello to them. On another note there are a few things happening in the back ground to kick start our community off which will be posted in the next month or two. Stay safe.

06.01.2022 FIRE EQUIPMENT FUNDRAISER: A small community in Canada is helping the Thowgla Valley near Corryong raise funds to buy fire-fighting equipment. Homes, catt...le, equipment, sheds and fences were lost in the recent bushfires. The fundraiser was started by James Paton who set up a GoFundMe page. He is hoping to raise funds for quick-fill pumps, a fire truck and possibly a shed. The Big Lake community in Canada wanted to support the fundraiser after Aussie firefighters helped their region fight fires in 2017. In a recent social media post The Big Lake Community Association said they have raised over $7,000 for the Thowgla Valley . The CFA says communities don’t need the CFA’s permission to use a private fire-fighting vehicle. They say access to established fire grounds are managed by the Incident Controller and while CFA already works with private fire trucks when appropriate, it will depend on the circumstances. The CFA says a community that wants to form a brigade or satellite brigade - is able to apply to the CFA, outlining its plan for recruiting and maintaining volunteer numbers. See more

05.01.2022 The Thowgla Valley Fire Brigade has reached over to Western Australia now! Some great people over there raised a bit over $2000 from raffles held among local quilters who were incredibly supportive and liked the idea of the money going straight to an on-ground cause. One couple donated $500 in that amount which is an awesome effort by all! Also they had connection to the local area in which their homes were lost.... Thank you to our Western Australian friends in helping us to better equipped our Valley!
