25.01.2022 Lithops are strange things. @ Thornbury, Victoria
25.01.2022 So many delicate succulent flowers in one planter.
25.01.2022 Guess what I’ve just eaten!
24.01.2022 I’m really chuffed to be able to show you some graphics work I’ve been working on of late - a bit of a change from all things garden. I have used the conch shell in my design as the motif is integral to south sea island life and identity, even to the detail of how it sits on a page. The colours reflect the Vanuatu flag and culture. The stitching lines tie the elements together and the typography represents boldness, pride and confidence. @helenfraserartist says Yumi Olgeta i...s all about creating spaces for cross-racial interactions and relationships to develop as these are essential to racial healing..the overarching aim is to craft a more inclusive and spiritually richer democracy. As part of the broaderYumi Olgeta programme, @helenfraserartist in collaboration with @assi.pjofficial will be running a number of appliqué and embroidery workshops at Sugarfest (a festival of Oceanic Culture, History and Music).
23.01.2022 Beginnings of some paving. I’ve had this stone for way too long and sometimes you just gotta get to it! @ Thornbury, Victoria
22.01.2022 Evening light-no filter
19.01.2022 Chives in bloom
17.01.2022 Nice calendulas though I suspect they’re like this due to some soil deficiency.
16.01.2022 Progress with the paving project.
15.01.2022 Gotta love the different types of euphorbia, this one self seeded from god knows where and I have two other varieties as well.
13.01.2022 I created a little path today, maybe it will help the electricity and gas people read the meter a bit easier!
13.01.2022 After seeing lots of posts showing friends’ ‘ just picked from their garden’ roses I just had to show you some of mine... orange - Just Joey, purple - Charles de Gaulle, red - Black Boy. All have a beautiful fragrance and look.. the posy has unintentionally taken the shape of a heart !
12.01.2022 Bit lonely in the house today.... first time since lockdown that I’ve been here by myself. Despite looking like I’m taking it way too easy, here in the Melbourne spring sunshineI’ve achieved heaps today... school crossing, coffee with fellow lollipop people @nicolecolledge23 and Ray, event prep and social media updates for @monashbusinessawards, logo finesses and handover for @helenfraserartist Yumi Olgeta project. Lunch, and in 10 mins I’m back at crossing. Then I have to go to shops to buy dinner. This is what you get when there’s not a constant interruption AND when you while the day away listening to dans press conferences.... and I’m not even stressed!
08.01.2022 My body is broke today and I can hardly move ..... sore shoulders, sore wrists and sore hips... with a splitting headache... I feel like I’m 80. BUT a whole day in the sunshine pottering away, music on my favorite playlist and slowly but surely setting each stone in place has made me forget my woes... such a beautiful spring day in Melbourne .
06.01.2022 Philodendron going gangbusters... I really like its leaf shape.
05.01.2022 Wandering around my dads garden.
04.01.2022 Next stage in this paving journey. I’ve created a rotating string line to get the right curve and marked it with stakes so I knew where to dig the grass away. That’s now done! Next stage, level off the soil and build up with gravel as I lay the crazy paving.
04.01.2022 My dad has a massive amount of echium... all seeded from a plant I took from my place a numbers of years back. The bees love them.
03.01.2022 @my_hubbys_a_chippy has done it again... just whipped up a few wooden seats/ plant stands...for @olivebrigid birthday. They’ve turned out really well and may ask if he can do one for me too.
