23.01.2022 On this WINE WEDNESDAY, we are excited to share with you a recent accolade we received at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show. Our Grenache Touriga, which received a 92 Point rating from Halliday earlier this year, was awarded with a Gold Medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show. Our Grenache Touriga 2018 was also given an in-depth review by the renowned Mike Bennie.... Fantastic character here, distinct with its fog of perfume that combines black and blueberry fruit notes, dried fig and date whiffs, sweet spice and a pleasing undergrowth-like character. Similar taste, somewhere between riper fruit, faint dried fruit and nuts, spice and savouriness. Way more going on here than expected and really delightful. 16.01.2022 WINE WEDNESDAY brings you some history of Three Dark Horses .. We produced our first vintage in 2009 using Shiraz and Romano Grenache from McLaren Vale and Touriga Nacionale from Langhorne Creek. The Shiraz and Grenache were matured in French and American oak for 18 months before blending with soft, berry flavoured unoaked Touriga. The result was a unique blend of dark cherries and raspberries with hints of dried spices and herbs, this is our SGT which we still produce tod...ay. All this was done by hand, using a hand press, a borrowed crusher and lots and lots of hard work .. Want to know more about our wine? The 2010 range consisted of three wines: the trademark Shiraz Grenache Touriga blend and straight Shiraz as well as a Touriga varietal.
