23.01.2022 Motivational Monday
20.01.2022 Hi Guys, I've cracked open the Good Friday Appeal swear jar and would like to let you all know that we raised $118.40. I would like to thank everyone who donated in the last couple of months, whether you swore or not. Again it all goes towards a great cause, and take some pride knowing you'll be bringing smiles to a lot of young faces because of your contribution. Be on the lookout to see if we get a mention on the telecast. Again thank you all again, and I wish you all a safe and happy Easter.
15.01.2022 Wiser Wednesday BEST WAYS TO SET FITNESS GOALS Setting goals can be the easiest thing to set up, but the hardest thing to follow. What makes following goals hard at times is how do you determine whether not your on track to completing your goal/s and when do you know you've completed it. Here are a few tips to help set fitness goals:... 1. Use numbers- When setting goals have numerical values as part of your goals to determine how much of something you want to achieve. Having numbers is the best way to keep track of how well your doing, and by doing so you'll have a visual representation of how close your getting to the end number. 2. Have a timeframe- Give yourself time to complete it. Unfortunately changes and improvements to your body won't happen overnight, it takes time. By giving yourself a timeframe, your committing yourself and focusing your time and effort for that period of time. It's also acts as a good motivator to try and complete that goal in that timeframe. 3. Keep it simple- Less is more. When setting goals you don't have to make it into an essay, a sentence or two is perfect. As long as you outline what you want to achieve in a clear and simple manner that you understand, that's it, that's your goal. Remember you're allowed to have more than one goal with your training, so if you have various things you want to achieve, have seperate goals. Don't try and mash them into one.
12.01.2022 Wiser Wednesday: G'day guys, just a couple of tips in finding ways throughout the day to be more physically active without having to think about. This simple lifestyle habit changes will go a long way in reaching the recommended 30minutes of physical activity without stepping foot into the gym. TAKE THE STAIRS- You'll find will be quicker getting up to the top, and you won't have to deal with the person standing on the right blocking your path. PARK TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE ...CAR PARK- Yes it may be further away from the entrance, but you'll wont having the trouble of finding a spot or worry about the out of control trolley hitting your car, plus you'll get extra steps in. EXERCISE/STRETCH DURING COMMERCIAL BREAKS- We all love watching our favourite TV shows, but sometimes we don't love the ads. Quick little exercise/stretch whilst their on will not only takes your mind off it, but also helps get your your muscles stimulated, and prevents having tight muscles afterwards.
10.01.2022 Wiser Wednesday: BEST WAYS NOT TO SKIP THE GYM 1. Pack your gym bag the night before: By packing your bag earlier, your more organised and are less likely to forget gym essential. Also it's gets you thinking of the gym before you get there... 2. Schedule your gym visit before daily tasks: Get it over and done with earlier rather than later. By doing so you won't have the stress of rushing to go the gym and letting daily tasks go into your gym time. 3. Place reminders at your most visited areas at work or home: Whether your desks, kitchen, bathroom or locker, if you see it you'll be more inclined to do it. 4. Use the gym as an escape from the outside world: Stressed or tough day at work, the gym is your time to focus on you and nothing else but you. Use the gym as outlet to get rid of the negatives, and bring the positives home.
09.01.2022 Hey guys, I'd like to start off by thanking everyone who braved the cold and wet for the 1000 steps this afternoon. I know there might be a few sore legs tomorrow, but I do want to congratulate everyone for participating in our first social event for the year. I hope everyone enjoyed the day (and the coffee and sweets afterwards) and will be looking forward to our next social event The Run For The Kids in April.
06.01.2022 Hey guys, when you’ve got the chance have a listen. Will be having more of these discussions throughout next year on different areas of physical and mental training at gyms and outside of it.
05.01.2022 Hey guys, would like to congratulate everyone who did the Run For The Kids this morning. I know the weather wasn't fantastic, but for those who completed the course, whether it was the short or long course, be proud of what you achieved today. Again the run is for a great course, so remember your run/walk contributed to the Good Friday, so take some pride with your accomplishments, and I'll see you all at the gym during the week.
03.01.2022 Hey guys, the "Swear Jar" is making a return starting tomorrow. All funds from the tin will go to the Good Friday Appeal which is 9 weeks away, and I want to see how much money we can raise by then. Like last year there will be rules (and I'm included in it as well): 1. $1 for every swear word said in class or PT session (Capped at $5) 2. $2 for anyone late to a class or PT session... As well you can donate without having to break the rules as well. Let's give it a red hot crack guys and see how well we can do.
