24.01.2022 Do you practice gratitude? Its such a good thing to do every day. Whether its written into a journal or just something you do inside your head daily, it sets you up for a positive attitude to your day. This morning I woke up feeling a bit grumpy and tired but I got up, did my daily Sadhana and meditation and as I sat there at the end, I thought about what I was grateful for in that moment. The birds were singing outside, the energy of Spring surrounds me, my husband w...as in the kitchen making a fresh pot of coffee for us to enjoy, my 2 youngest children were sleeping and breathing heavily in a tent next to my bed (its a camp out apparently ) and my eldest was just on the other side of the wall sleeping. My puppy dog was snoring on her bed beside me...and I was about to lead my team from work in a morning meditation. No daily commute in sight! It’s situated in Balian Beach on the east coast of Bali and is the perfect place for an intimate and authentic yoga retreat. Since February, international tourism (and yoga retreats) have been non-existent in Bali and although we’ve done everything we can to support our local team there, the whole community is under significant financial pressure. 17.01.2022 Im usually one of those people who only ever goes in the water if its over 30 degrees... and even then, I often wont get my hair wet... but over the past few weeks as Ive walked on the beach everyday and Ive seen my hubby swim iceberger style almost every morning through Winter, Ive been considering going for a dip! And so tonight... after Id finished the work day, I went down to the bay for a paddle board and a swim. It was cold and I didnt hesitate to completely immerse...hair and all! Who even am I?! Normally on a Thursday night at this time, Id be sitting in traffic on my commute home from work, but not tonight! It feels great to be finding so much freedom in this lockdown!

I am soooo super proud of my son Cooper! While his Year 9 lockdown year could have been spent on his X-Box or wallowing in what hes missing out on, hes taken the past few weeks to start his own small business. What started as a play around with a candle making kit I had in the cu...pboard turned into hours of testing and trialling, sourcing and negotiating, working out profit margins, briefing a graphic designer on his logo and labels...he even photographed his own product and built his own website. A little Ganesha ceremony (hes the remover of obstacles), lighting a candle, setting up some crystals that Ive chosen intuitively and tidying up my space...ready for a fresh week of work. Its probably not the way most of my colleagues or very many other corporates prepare for their week...but hey, dont judge! Whatever works to set you up with a fresh and inspired mind. 06.01.2022 FREEDOM...thats what this feels like to me this week....believe it or not! Despite being in our second lockdown in Melbourne, despite living in a State of Disaster, despite having a curfew from 8pm-5am (Ive never been in a city with a curfew), despite only being allowed out for an hour a day to exercise...this still feels like FREEDOM to me! No long commutes to walk, no sitting around Board Room tables, no need to put makeup on everyday, no need to wear high heels , no st...rict timings for kids schooling or after-school activities, no drop off and pick ups from kids play dates and sporting activities ....nothing...except be at home, be together as a family and get on with creating positive memories about this time for the kids. Of course, FREEDOM is a strange way to look at this but when we shift our perception, expand our beliefs, focus on the positives and find gratitude for having the slowdown, we find the positives, the happiness and the freedom....and the fear and frustration fades. Give it a try. Weve got a long way to go and 6 weeks of feeling confined and held back will make it much harder than focusing on what brings us into flow...
