23.01.2022 Removing dead tree and chopping it up for fire wood

22.01.2022 Acer negundo (box elder) has been here for 20 plus years and is still only this height due to it being root bound. The client and I discussed what we could do and we decided together to remove the tree and to re plant. Due to the soil being clay with a ph of 5.5 I have added my own mixture of soil I create to help with the site soil that is already there. Once my mix is ready I then rotary hoe the added soil into the site soil. This will help with nutrients and drainage for the newly planted tree. Once planted I mulch and water in.

06.01.2022 Few weeks after I’ve fertilised the hedge. So red!

05.01.2022 A lot of people get confused with these two plants. The top is a dandelion and the bottom is cats ear. As you can see the dandelion has a lot more serrated leaf edges compared to the cats ear. The flowers are much the same but the stems of the dandelions are thicker and hollow compared to the cats ear

01.01.2022 Bracket fungus is a big issue in trees. This is like a cancer for trees that rots the inside of the tree turning it soft and very fragile. Here is some photos of it cut open and how soft the wood becomes to the point of just poking it makes a hole
