19.01.2022 We want to encourage our Mum's this week and have made up some wallpapers for your phone and desktop! If you head over to https://gatewaybaptist.com.au/mothersday/ and you can download them for yourself or share them with someone special!
18.01.2022 Hoping you know today that you are loved with an everlasting love - no matter your story today - you are loved. Some of our hearts will be full, some might be empty or broken - either way YOU are precious and valued and loved by God.
15.01.2022 My family moved house over the holidays (hence no posts on this page for a while) - there were blessings and challenges in doing that in a pandemic. I’ve heard many say the same - that there have been unexpected blessings in this time. Whatever your experience today - whether being overwhelmed by the challenges or encouraged by the blessings may you crawl under his wings and find a secure place to snuggle in his love.
14.01.2022 Couldn’t resist! May the 4th be with you.
14.01.2022 Sometimes we just need to sit and take a rest from the load that we lovingly carry.
10.01.2022 A beautiful reminder.
07.01.2022 love this reminder.... God sees us - right now in this exact moment of your life God sees you... let this wash over you today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz81dIfwf4Y&feature=share
07.01.2022 Wonderful Women - as I prayed on the way in to school yesterday I was reminded of the time David and his men came home from fighting a battle only to find another enemy had come in and raided their homes and taken their families captive. David’s response was to weep with his men - a completely human and completely understandable and completely ok response. He then sought the Lord for direction and went to rescue their families. This I believe is to be our strategy going forward in this season - recognize its completely ok to have our human response but don’t stop there... seek the Lord for his role for us in our communities during this time. Check out the story in 1 Sam 30.
06.01.2022 I was reading the story of Elijah this morning where God told him to go hide in a ravine near a brook and he would supply him with food. God sent ravens to him in the morning and the night with bread and meat - I’m wondering if Elijah was Sth African lol - anyhoo this is an amazing story but for the first time today I was struck by the thought who made the bread?. Was it an angel? Did the raven swoop into someone’s house? Did God just speak the bread into existence? I do...n’t have the answer to that question but it has been a kind of ‘wow’ moment for me all day as it’s given me another glimpse into the heart of our Father who is very aware of our struggle to prepare for the days ahead. As we go into ‘hiding’ (for us self isolation) God is still able to bring the ‘bread and meat’ to us. 1 Kings 17:2-6 is the reference if you want to check it out and let us know if you need ‘bread and meat’. 06.01.2022 Thrive Reconnect June 2020 Hi Gateway Redlands' Girls... I don't know about you but I am missing my 'village" big time. What a crazy few months we're all been journeying through. If you're anything like me in the beginning you will have had days of being in what I call my 'zombie apocalypse mode', where just caring for the basic needs of my family took every bit of strength I had - of course throw into that mix moving house in a pandemic and well you get the picture. I'm not sure what your journey has been like over these past two months but what I am hearing from everyone is how much we miss church and being able to catch up face to face with our church family. As COVID restrictions begin to lift our Thrive Team met this past week to plan some opportunities for us to get together and have some fun over the next few months. A Worship Night is being planned for end of July - how good will that be to worship and pray together again. We will be holding an Amazing Race in August which is going to be so much fun. You'll be able to register a car load of crazy girl friends or female family members and race together to find the clues and complete the course. I will send out more info about these events in a few weeks. I know, I know I hear you all saying "but that's too far away we want to meet now!" and we completely agree with you so we've planned a Thrive Reconnect afternoon for Sat 20th June. The plan is to meet in groups of 20 at a few homes for afternoon tea. Everyone can bring a small plate of something savory or sweet and we can spend some time catching up with each others' stories. In keeping with Government guidelines we will need everyone to RSVP - when you do please indicate up to five people you'd like to be spending the afternoon with and we will do our best to allocate you to a home together. Once we have done this we will send you the address for where your event will be. So to summarize: Thrive Reconnect Sat 20th June at 2pm bring a sweet or savory plate RSVP to Angela or Carol by 18th June As you can appreciate all events being planned will meet COVID safe guidelines. Finally as always remember we are here for you so if there is anything you need support in during this time please let me know. love to you all from Carol and the Thrive Team
