24.01.2022 A tool we love is Trello. Its great for brainstorming, making lists and processes. Check it out if you need some way to track a bunch of info. We track our projects and processes for each in it, we track content ideas. On the personal front, we track regular shopping lists, meal planning, and my yearly bullet journal. It works on a range of devices, so if I have an idea for a blog post, I just pop in a new card with any notes Ive thought of. ... I can use it on my computer for planning client work. Its simple. Its not the only tool for either of these jobs, but it works as a catch all for many ideas. What are your favourite planning or note taking tools?

24.01.2022 Why are the words you use on your website important? The textual content on your site is incredibly important as keywords are what attracts your web traffic and speak to your customers. The first reason is if you can utilise keywords for internet searches in your content, it means that more users will see you pop up in searches.... For a web design business for example, we might use keywords such as: web design, web developer, creative, digital marketing etc. The second reason is that you need to write your website copy in such a way that speaks directly to your customers or clients. Have you ever been on a website where they speak in such a way, that you can’t understand what they’re saying? We have, and it’s the difference between doing business with that company, or going to someone who knows how to speak to you in a way that you understand.

23.01.2022 If you dont have a marketing plan, its time to make one. It doesnt need to be complicated, and something simple is going to be better than not doing anything. Who is your marketing talking to?... What value are you providing them? What questions do they have? Where have you answered their questions? What do you want them to do? How are you going to reach them? Grab your biz notebook, and write down the questions and answers.

23.01.2022 Why are professional photographs important for your website? Photographs are essential to visually showcasing your brand. Not only do professional photographs ensure a perception of quality, they should sell the benefits of your product or service and show potential consumers why they should invest in your business.... It adds professionalism and credibility to your business that iPhone photos can’t always give.

22.01.2022 All the feels when you post to insta and the caption is formatted properly For clean captions that are spaced beautifully, ensure that you dont have any spaces on the end of the lines. You dont need to add lines with dots, or spacing icons. ... Theres a nifty website that you can use to strip the spaces and format your caption properly. https://www.thrivewebdesign.com.au/tools

22.01.2022 I’ve been working with a client on her new site recently, and she asked me to remove one of the frequently asked questions because the answer was the same as another question. On face value, you’d say ok, sure. But looking at it more closely, the second questioneven though it had the same answer as the other questionwas a different question.... Again, you might wonder what the big deal is. The big deal is that the majority of site visitors don’t go to your website and read it from top to bottom. They skim read itlooking for the sections, headings and bullet points that answer their questions. Now a visitor to this site with the second question in mind, may not see the answer they’re looking for because the FAQ topic that matches her question isn’t there. Small elements of duplication doesn’t matter as much as answering your customer questions. I hope that’s a little food for thought for you next time you’re reviewing your website.

22.01.2022 Lets talk business goals for a quick minute. How much time are you spending setting goals for the coming month? This could be revenue targets, clients onboarded, leads in, or number of products sold.... There are so many different variables you can track and forecast that give you great insight into how your biz is tracking. It gives you an opportunity to work out how you can improve your marketing to hit your targets. Do you regularly set targets for your business? Set your period, set your goals, and each period, review them, and then evaluate how to do better next time. What does this look like in your biz?

22.01.2022 I've been chatting with a client today, that up until now, uses Yellow Pages for advertising. If youre currently using Yellow Pages for advertising, I want to ask you a few questions 1. How many clients are you getting from yellow pages? In a week? A month? A year? 2. What is the value of those clients to you? 3. What percentage of your revenue is coming from the Yellow Pages clients?... 4. What percentage of your advertising spend is going to Yellow Pages vs other advertising streams? 5. Is this still a worthwhile expense for your business? 6. When you search on Google for your business name, is your Yellow Pages listing showing up? When you break things down this way, you have the opportunity to evaluate what marketing is working and what isnt. For the client I was chatting to, we determined that the number of clients & revenue was less than 5%, yet it was one of their largest advertising spends. If your answers show that Yellow Pages may no longer be the best spend for your advertising dollars, you might wonder where you can better use those dollars to bring in clients. If youre interested to find out more, lets jump on a call together and well work out whatll work for your business 03 54 39 5801.

22.01.2022 Weve recently launched a site to give Jarrod at Wilkinson Landscapes a presence online. Were waiting to see some beautiful landscapes come through as the business takes off. Good luck Jarrod!

22.01.2022 Handy hint for today. Make sure you have the right tool for the job. And a bonus hint is to ensure that its in tip top shape (or you know how to use it properly). A silly little example for you When I first started working for myself, I was using a tiny stapler that Id had since I was a kid. I used it for far longer than I should have. It used to frustrate me so often--Id have to pull staples out all the time, it wouldnt go through the number of pages I needed it to.... Im sure you feel my pain. Anyway, I was in the stationery shop and walked past the staplers and decided on the spot that I needed a new one. It was $30, which seemed like a lot at the time. But you know what? GREAT VALUE. There were no longer any issues with stapling large documents. And less frustration. My question to you is, are there any areas in your biz that cause you extreme frustration? That can be solved by spending some cashola? Every little frustration can be eased in some way. Its just a matter of working out how. So find the right tool for the job and make life easier on yourself. See more

20.01.2022 Can I accept credit card details via email? NO! This is a massive security risk, and possibly a breach of your merchant agreement with your provider. Email servers are not designed to have the required level of security for collecting credit card details. Were talking bank level of security is required for collecting credit card details. And email doesnt have it. As a merchant collecting payments, you have obligations. This isnt our area of expertise, so speak to your ban...k about the requirements you must follow. Note this is not legal or security advice. Please speak to the experts about whats best for your business. As an aside - if a business ever asks you, personally, to email them credit card details, please dont. Your details are not safe. 16.01.2022 Content creation tip for creating more content for socials. Once youve finished writing a newsletter, blog or even an email to a clientgrab out short sharable useful info and pop the sections into your social media schedule or plan. I use a Google Doc with a table, broken down into days that Im posting. I put the content in, and in my allocated social planning time, I go back and clean up the content, adding images, emojis and hashtags later on, right before scheduling the content.

10.01.2022 Following on from the last post about the right tool for the job. Your website and marketing needs to be right for the objectives you have for it.
