The good thing about vegetables is that they are not only delicious to eat but they are really really good for you!! In TCM radish helps to eliminate stagnation, which is so perfect for spring especially after such a long period of stagnation at home for many of us here in Victoria due to you know what... Another wonderful thing about radishes is that they also help to regenerate soil health, so in the case of radishes what is good for the soil is also good for you too!! #winwin #regenerativeagriculture Radishes are often planted as a cover crop because they put a huge amount of nutrition back into the soil. 12.01.2022 BUDDY!! Such a good boy! Happy to report that he's been doing a very good job of barking away the Eagles who were absolutely relentless with our darling birds. And now that he's not scared on foxes any more (!!) He's giving them a run for their money and chasing them away too!! (Thank goodness! )... Good job Buddy!! Love you mate.

11.01.2022 FABULOUS FABULOUS FENNEL!!! . It's HARVEST DAY today and the team have been busy out in the fields all day picking A HUGE variety of goodies for this weeks markets...... . Today we are really felt excited about the awesome addition to any dish... FENNEL! . Super rich in vitamin C along with a good dose of vitamin A, Magnesium and Calcium ~ fennel is not only nutritious bit undeniably deeeelicious and GOOD FOR YOU!!! . The subtle hint of aniseed and the crunchy, caramely goodness is incredible roasted with cauliflower & sumac, or why not chop it up and add to any soup or stir fry! It's also awesome in a salad with fresh orange and radish and the seeds can be added to sauerkraut!! . If you're off onions and garlic, the fennel and leek combo is a superb flavourful replacement to any dish!! . People tell us all the time that they never liked fennel before trying ours, and we know why!! . We put a lot of love, time, effort and attention into growing the most delicious flavour-full organic goodness ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!!! . 11.01.2022 Hey everyone its Clare & Paul here. As you can see from the video (pics in previous post) we have been devastated by a massive fire that engulfed our big shed early Friday morning. A terrible accident that has left us absolutely devastated.... We are attempting to process all of the emotions and make sense of it all. Trying not to blame ourselves for the tragedy & lose ourselves into the overwhelming grief. Losing not only the shed, but the cool room, the refrigerated trailer, the egg washer, a hundred or so beautiful wicker baskets collected over many years, all our market tables, the gazebos, brand new banners, shelving, the staff kitchen, water tanks, new electrics, boxes, weights, 8 brand new sets of scales, all our sharp knives, food processor, buckets upon buckets of potatoes, onions & pumpkins & our entire weekend harvest plus over a weeks worth of eggs from our 2500 hens. That's only the tip of the iceberg & but a few of the items roasted, melted & destroyed by the fire that took six engines to put out. But more than that, it's all the hard work & effort of so many staff over the past few years to build it up from scratch. This is a major crisis. We are grieving & in shock. We just wanted to get through the weekend, push through, do a second harvest on Friday afternoon to make it through & have something to offer our loyal dedicated customers on the weekend. Try to replace tables & gazebos, etc. Just make it work. Now the weekend is over, the emotions are certainly up on the surface & the shock is setting in. Big Time. We are still working out how to get through the next few weeks, to clean up the mess, to keep the freshly harvested veggies still growing in the fields cool for the markets, setting up new areas to process the eggs & veggies, to keep things moving. It's a lot. But for now, we ask you to keep us in your thoughts, your prayers & your hearts at this truly difficult time. We really appreciate all your love and support. Love from us. 10.01.2022 Amazing humans, Thank you thank you thank you! So much!!!... The love and support is immense and completely overwhelming. What an incredible continuity we are blessed with. We're feeling your love, your prayers and the help in the form of financial contributions to our GoFundMe and sharing it far and wide is sooo deeply appreciated!!! This will really help us to replace the immediate items that we need to show up to the markets this week, and in the new year and keep our business afloat at this crazy time. We've been working on the mammoth task of setting up a new irrigation system to keep all the babies happy and the veggies growing. Almost there!! ... A bunch of beautiful new hens have arrived and they are all settling in beautifully. And many many many seeds and seedlings planted for summer and autumn harvests... So much goodness!! Vegetables make everything better!!! 03.01.2022 CHRISTMAS MARKETS The guys did a great job harvesting fresh veggies and preparing fresh laid eggs for today's markets, finding so many beautiful beets amongst the weeds!! #organicfarmlife (swipe across to see) Roast beetroot is always a favourite at our Christmas dinner table. How about you? ... We also love roast cauliflower, potatoes, pumpkin on the side. And of course, a big serve of GREENS!! Our travel plans to spend Christmas in Sydney with Paul's family for the first time in 7 years are now not going ahead, so we'll spend the day with Clare's family again, eating all the food, watching the girls play, trying to stay positive despite the chaos on the farm. The constant reminder and most important thing is that no one was hurt, injured or worse by the tragedy on Friday. We still have one another, love in our hearts and a roof over our heads. The veggies are still growing in the fields. The hens are still laying the most delicious eggs. Our incredible staff and customers keep showing up to the farm and to the markets. Still so much to be grateful for. Hope to see some of our amazing customers at the markets today as there will only be ONE market on the weekend.
