23.01.2022 Heaps of photos of our Simpson Desert Crossing are going up and Im trying to keep up with it all! Our Leader: Stuart Ball - our patient and fearless leader, fu...ll of wisdom and a sense of humour. Took the reigns when needed but for the most part, trusted our team to guide and help each other. Runs Adventuremax 2020 - Final Edition - Byron to Steep Point Great Australian Ride. Onya Stu, you survived your first all-women trip while your eyes were being terrorised by nudity Our Team: Rikki AD - if someone captured a rainbow and made it into a person, it would be Rikki, always rocking the contagious positivity. Will ride any bike, and if injured, try try again. Aways cheerfully smiling and ready for hugs. Chantal Simons - a woman with a can-do attitude who left her ego long ago somewhere in the outback. A world traveler and adventurer. Pays attention to the world around her with careful detail. We spent a short while observing ants and watching the sunset. Kim Killick - everyones crazy best friend, rolled up with an empathetic nurse, with a sprinkle of loose frat boy. A proud grandma who supports everyone from start to finish, even if it means getting a trailer from 2300km away or driving a 1400km detour from home for our gear (delivering mail and helping people along the way). Entered the Simpson with hair, left Mt Dare bald (she raised almost $300 in the hotel). Along with hubby Mark, some of the greatest people youll ever meet. Chris Knight - a high-octane jetpowered racer at heart, never touched dirt before but trained her ass off and split the dunes in half as a result. Goes hard and doesnt leave an ounce of effort with anything she does. Is fearless in twisties and has a strong grasp of sarcasm and humour. My dear friend and fellow sportbike rider. Kate - A rebel against Facebook and injustice. Speaks loudly about things that are wrong with the world, but is quiet about her accomplishments as a rider. Tactical, kind hearted, will make sure everyone is ok before moving forward. Her technical skills on a GS1200 are insane. I spent a total of 2000km driving with her. She has stories to tell. Maggie McCaughan - flew in from Ireland to Melbourne. Pillioned to Albury, rode to Byron Bay, rode to Birdsville, crossed the Simpson, did the entire Oodnadatta Track and Birdsville Track, and is now riding back to Melbourne. On one of the most difficult bikes, without much off-road experience prior. Humble, strong willed, with a golden heart. Inspires people around her to try their very best. A legend. Sharka Zeman - A calm and gentle natured preschool teacher, until she gets on a bike. A road rider who learned sand for the trip, extremely capable. Hopped on an ill-equipped, taller, heavier bike on Day 2 and managed to complete the crossing with flying colours. Let me borrow camping gear and ensured I was comfortable the whole trip. At every opportunity asks everyone if they want tea, regardless of the 40C weather. Stephanie Bofinger - only had her motorcycle licensed for 3 years and didnt have off-road experience prior to the trip, was an elite swimmer and still put in the fitness training to prepare for this trip. Confident rider who doesnt take BS, will speak the truth on behalf of others. Never gave up despite bike issues before the trip, still showed up and slayed. Jayne White - a flying superstar who does monos on the dunes in front of bewildered children who, in turn, will be inspired to do the same in about 30 years. I have learned not to follow her tracks as they often lead to drop-offs. Extremely smart and handy with the tools, built her own camper trailer and teaches school kids to do the same. Gave us game changing riding tips that will stick with us forever. Suzy - Knew her fears going into it and conquered what she could despite an injury. Planning her second trip to the Simpson to do it better. let me sit in her air con for 20min to avoid heat stress. It was like an oasis. Julianne Reiners - Resident outback girl, always seen in an Acubra hat (even while swimming) and enjoys mustering us through the dunes. Ensures everyone is well hydrated and somehow magically appears throughout the dunes, lying on her stomach, catching candid shots of us going past. Capable and confident off-road rider with a permanent smile on her face. Support crew: Clint Clarke - seen on Husqvarna forums asking questions on how to fix and optimise their 3 bikes for the trip. Is quietly proud of Chris and says beautiful things behind her back. Loves getting airborne and managed to get through the Simpson without #sendingit .... Well almost Laddie Rus - talented sand rider who put us all to shame in Little Desert, helped support my ride from William Creek to Roxby Downs (otherwise I wouldnt have fuel) with Sharka and manages to slip in a pun or joke every time you ask him something. Knows his way around bikes and helped me with suspension. Ian - drove a 4WD and trailer across every dune, safely so that we can have our fuel and spares. Without his trailering skills we wouldnt have made it. Topped us up with fuel with Clint like ninjas. Dom - a man of few to no words, straight from Ireland and never seen sand, but there he was driving a 4WD over dunes. he was out and helping everyone with food and water, handling the desert heat like a champ. Cam - super friendly 4WD master of terrain and distance, always willing to help with heavy lifting and carrying, drove from Mt Dare to Adelaide in 2 days. Ben - textbook definition of friendly outback guy, made us feel at ease when things seemed to go wrong, happy to assist with all our city comforts.

22.01.2022 Home and reflecting on what an amazing opportunity I have experienced with so many amazing women.Especially being able to share this once in a life time adventu...re with a close friend our Victorian ambassador Vicki Cronin who worked tiredly when she took on the role after Christines passing. I am so honoured to have had the privilege of being road captain bestowed to me for day 185 for #womenridersworldrelay Thank you for those joined in the days ride to Wagga Wagga ... a total of 94 bikes which has made it so memorable and we enjoyed an amazing day that ran to schedule and all arrived safely to Wagga Wagga. Also two special mentions to Kek for her support and my Dad who was tail end Charlie with a support car and trailer... something I am so proud to share this event with which means so much. #wrwraustralia2019 #wrwr #grlrdr #womenwhoridemotorcycles #womenwhoride See more

19.01.2022 To the girls who are gearing up for a weekend of riding I often get messages from girls who are wanting to ride but get nervous about riding around males...... This is understandable but shouldnt be something that holds you back from doing what you love, so Ive got 3 tips to get you out on track! 1 Go to the track with friends Its always nice to have people you feel comfortable with around for support and to ride with, its always more fun riding with friends! 2 Focus on yourself and dont worry about riders around you If youre nervous about other riders on track you wont be in the present moment, making it harder to ride properly, make clear decisions and enjoy the experience. Your number 1 focus should be you! 3 Mingle! Befriending other riders at the track both boys and girls, is not only great for yourself but also the Moto community. Making new friends will help other riders be more aware of you on track and means there will always be someone to lend you a hand when youre in need. So have a chat! At the end of the day youre all there for the same reason - to ride bikes! So have fun @ihdphotography

18.01.2022 #BRAGGINGTIME What's up FSGC fans? Amanda here. Tonight I want you usually humble selves, to brag a bit.... Tell me - what are you good at on the bike? What did you find easy to master? For me, 5'1" (152cm) I can ride while only needing my 1 left toe on the ground. I think it comes from desperately practicing to avoid embarrassing myself in public. How about you?
