22.01.2022 A reminder for those wishing to undertake burns: It is important that if you wish to undertake any type of burning, you must adhere to local council requirements AND ensure you notify your neighbours and the NSW Rural Fire Service with a minimum 24 hours notice-this is a legal obligation of landholders as per the NSW Rural Fires Act. Fines of up to $1100 may be imposed for failing to notify. Please be a responsible landholder and do the right thing. To notify please head to rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify

21.01.2022 Today six NSW RFS volunteer aviation rescue officers have undertaken induction training with one of the new NSW RFS helicopters. This training includes a number of simulated land and water rescues.

There were lots of very excited children and it was great to spread some festive cheer. Having just experienced one of the worst bush fire seasons on record, NSW RFS staff have been busy preparing for the season ahead. One of the many ways we must ensure we are prepared, is by identifying local suppliers early. During a major incident, the NSW RFS requires items and services such as: Catering Accommodation Fuel Ice Tools Equipment Hire (Generators, Marquees, Portaloos, Skip Bins, Cool Rooms) Cleaning services Transport services (Buses, Private Cars, Freighting) Security services Mechanical services And much more We urgently require a broad range of suppliers for the upcoming fire season. If you’re an interested business, we need your support! To register to do business with us; the process is quick and easy, and can be completed online in a matter of minutes. All you need to do is head to q2c.rfs.nsw.gov.au to register.
