18.01.2022 Are you a cornet or trumpet player planning on playing the Last Post on ANZAC day this year? All over the country brass musicians will be standing on their driveway at 6am to sound the Last Post to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and to honour the many who have, or are still currently serving in our Armed Forces. From one of our great friends of the band comes a great tutorial on how to play the Last Post. Arthur is a professional trumpet player with th...e Australian Army as well as a great instrumental tutor and instrument repairer. Thanks for the link Arthur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=796ZtqyvL9Y

08.01.2022 The Brighouse and Rastrick Band proudly present "A Concert in the Living Room. We are so excited to finally reveal what we have been working on since all of ou...r "real life" banding was cancelled. As anyone who has even been to a B&R concert will know, we always finish our performances with a rendition of The Floral Dance. At the minute, all of our upcoming concerts are of course either cancelled or postponed, so we have been thinking of how we can bring our music straight to you, in your living room. We can now proudly present The Floral Dance, from our living rooms to yours! A special mention goes to those of you who were due to be attending the eagerly anticipated Massed Bands concert with the Black Dyke Band right now at Huddersfield Town Hall. We hope that this will go some way to fill the gap in your Saturday evening. We would like to say a huge thank you to the band's timpanist Jonathan Kenna for leading this project, and also to Keith Johnson of KMJ recordings for helping with some of the technical work. There is a huge amount of work involved in creating something like this; it is definitely not a quick job and Kenna has managed to fit it all in alongside his currently crucial job in the police force. We hope this video gives you as much joy to watch as it did for us to make. And for all of our fellow banders and audiences out there, keep watching this space as in the current days we are going to be giving you the opportunity to get involved with The B&R Floral Dance. Stay home and stay safe, with love from everyone at the Brighouse and Rastrick Band.

05.01.2022 Due to some planned and unplanned leave we currently are in need of some temporary help in the tenorhorn section for a gig on Sunday afternoon on 23 August. Contact our MD Greg Finlay on [email protected] if you think you might be the right person to help out. Of course, all new or visiting players are always welcome.

04.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1JNOQ-Tqus&t=20s Almost 12 months ago Thuringowa Brass were crowned D Grade National marching champions. It is important to note that the music and the timing of the marching steps doesn't quite match until we get closer. That is, to say..... most of us were in step. Make sure you watch the awesome change of direction with the "reverse box wheel" expertly masterminded by Mr Bruce Jurss and executed (almost) flawlessly by Lachlan and the band.... Thanks to Brassbanned.com for the footage and our newly created Youtube channel. Share away......
