20.01.2022 Episode 9 - Swansea and the Pyengana Sighting Mystery is now live! In this episode the team depart from the Lake Leake Highway investigation site after finding evidence of spotted tail quolls in the area, but no indication of recent thylacine activity. Their next stop is to the seaside town of Swansea where Bill tells the story of William Cotton, a 19th century trapper who allegedly led a thylacine on a rope into town as if it was a pet dog. The event was met with shock and s...urprise by all who witnessed the event. Is this a solid recording of a thylacine being kept as a pet? From Swansea the team investigates a recent sighting in the Freycinet National Park, that has had all of the details redacted by the Tasmanian Government. This leads the team to ponder why would the government not release more information if the Government truly believed the thylacine as extinct? The last stop in this episode is Pyengana and the infamous Pub in the Paddock. In 1995 local newspapers were filled with stories about a local park ranger who spied a thylacine through his binoculars. As with the earlier Narding sighting this ranger was also conducting a bird survey and the government followed up with an official investigation. This sighting has been shrouded in controversy for years , with some claiming it was a publicity stunt aimed at getting people to visit the nearby Pub in a Paddock. Join the team as they take a closer look at this intriguing story to see what the truth might be. https://youtu.be/11ibeR9mohw
