They say that blood is strong and true, but it is not my blood you see that is, but my fair skin, blonde hair and my eyes are blue, my history runs back from a far and the dream time is where my people lye, but that is not what your told to believe through your eyes, my people were once rich with culture and now they run poor, picking up the scraps and pieces left and broken on the floor, my blood runs black with tears of lose and sorrow, but their strength and courage runs through my veins, and I am living proof that my people are still standing and fighting but you do not see the strong black women who lives within me and I still carry this through my veins every day, but you deny me of my culture and you look the other way, You question me and tell I am wrong that is not your right I am not just the colour of my skin, my hair and my eyes, I am black just like my mother and her mother, And when I look in the mirror I see their curls, nose, strength and beauty Yes I may be white but everything other then colour says otherwise I’m black can’t you see, My people were once hunters and healers, protectors of this rich land, you know the land that was once stolen, you didn’t think I’d forget but you see, what you seem to miss is that ones appearance doesn’t define someone’s ethnicity. And how society doesn’t get to tell how black, white and everything in between because of ones colour of their skin
