25.01.2022 Response to Victorian fires - Update 2nd January Hay has started moving into East Gippsland - First loads arrived yesterday with plans to be moved in by helicop...ter today. Further trucks are loaded heading to Buchan. Currently making arrangements for North East Victoria Fires around Corryong. If you have a truck or trailer and will be available you can register http://www.needforfeed.org/hr2.html If you have fodder you can donate http://www.needforfeed.org/donate-fodder.html If you can help with some funds for fuel to keep the trucks rolling http://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html Our planned hay run to South Australia for the drought has been downsized for now with some trucks being diverted to fire assistance. We will make arrangements as soon as we can for the shortfall once the fire emergency has passed. In the mean time remaining trucks are on their way west. Give them a toot if you see them.

20.01.2022 I want you to do just one simple thing. When these fires have stopped, and the towns impacted are safe and trying to regain some sense of normal, I want you t...o plan a road trip. Go with empty eskies, empty cars and low fuel. Go, spend your money, stay in their hotels, buy from their shops, camp at their camp grounds, buy their gifts, buy their fuel, buy bread and milk. Beyond rebuilding, they need continued and long term support to get back on their feet and your empty esky makes more of a difference than you could ever imagine. #gowithemptyeskys

19.01.2022 Remember, one minute before the clock strikes 12 tonight, a face covering must be worn when we* leave our homes. Wearing a face covering will provide an additio...nal physical barrier to COVID-19 and, on top of good hand hygiene/respiratory etiquette and physical distancing, will help keep our communities as safe as possible. *This does not apply to children under 12, people with breathing difficulties, and those who have physical conditions that make it difficult to wear a face covering. #staysafe #bemaskedatmidnight

17.01.2022 As Premier of this state, Ive spent every day fighting for workers and fighting for jobs. I know what every Victorian knows: a job means financial security ...but it also means stability, purpose and the foundation to build your future. And I honestly never thought Id find myself in a position where Id have to ask people not to go to work. But if were serious about driving this thing down and we absolutely must be we need to take unprecedented steps in limiting the movement of people, and therefore limiting the movement of this virus. I know there are lots of questions and Ill do my best to clarify some of them as simply as I can here. Under Stage 4 restrictions, businesses and industries will fall into three categories: First, those that will remain open including supermarkets, grocery stores, bottle shops, pharmacies, petrol stations, banks, newsagencies, post offices plus everyone involved in our frontline response. Services like food banks and disability services will continue to support our communitys most vulnerable members. Petrol stations will keep pumping fuel and pharmacies will keep dispensing prescriptions. In the second category are businesses that will need to stop all on-site operations including retail, some manufacturing, and administrative, financial and professional services. These businesses will need to shut by 11:59pm Wednesday 5 August unless they have specific circumstances that mean they need a bit longer to do so safely. Retail shops will be able to operate contactless click and collect and delivery services with strict safety protocols in place, and hardware stores can remain open onsite but for tradies only. In the third category are industries that cannot be shut down, but are at higher risk of outbreaks. This includes areas like food production and meat processing, and logistics and distribution. Continuing to operate safely will require some big changes. Slowing production and having fewer staff onsite at any given time. Staggering start, finish and break times. More PPE. Health declarations and more support for sick workers to ensure they stay home. These changes will be enforceable. And the onus will be on employers to make sure theyre doing the right thing by their workers, including ensuring those with symptoms and potentially the virus do not come to work. This is not easy. None of it is easy. It will be imperfect, and there may be unintended consequence of shutting down one industry but not another. Ill be upfront about that. But theres no guide on how to get through a global pandemic and closing industries on this scale has never been done before. These restrictions will of course have real and heavy consequences for a number of businesses, workers and their families. Well do everything we can to lighten that load. For those businesses that suffer significant losses or need to close as a result of the current restrictions, we will provide support through our expanded Business Support Fund. Businesses in regional Victoria will be eligible for a $5,000 grant. Those in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire can apply for up to $10,000 in recognition of spending longer under restrictions. I fully appreciate that peoples livelihoods are on the line. Jobs and futures at stake. And it is with an incredibly heavy heart that weve had to make these calls. But sadly, there is no alternative. There are no short cuts. Because there can be no economic recovery if we dont get the health response right. There can be no productivity if thousands of people are sick. And many, many more businesses would likely go under if this situation drags on for months. None of us want that. All of us want this to be over as soon as possible. Thats a given. And the only way to get there is if we all work together. Pull in the same direction. Lives and livelihoods depend on it.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bit of good news for your Sunday morning. Because of our high rates of testing and our low levels of community transmission, were now able to pla...n for the coming weeks and getting back to a few more of the things everyones been missing. From 11.59pm on 31 May, well be increasing gathering limits to 20 people and allowing overnight stays. That means you can sleep over at a mates or rent somewhere for a weekend away. And more community facilities and businesses will be able to reopen including places like libraries, community centres, beauty therapy and tattoo studios. As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene. The contact details of customers and people using the facilities will also need to be recorded to allow tracing. Im sure people will have questions about why X is allowed if you cant do Y but this really isnt an exercise in whataboutery. Weve had to make some tough calls. We cant just open the floodgates on everything all at once, and risk throwing away all our hard work. I hope people appreciate this point. We have to be cautious and careful. Then, if it all goes to plan and were tracking okay with case numbers, well be able to make some more changes a bit later in the month. From 11.59pm on 21 June, that would include reopening gyms, indoor sports facilities, movie theatres and the snow season will be able to kick off. And finally, a message to all our employers out there. I really need your help on this one. I appreciate this isnt possible for all workplaces. But if your staff are able to work from home, and have been doing so we need to keep that going. We simply cant have thousands of people on trains and trams let alone the logistical challenges of communal kitchens, lifts and big office buildings. I know Ive said this before, but as we all have more choices and more options, its even more important: Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should race out and do it. Weve come so far and its up to all of us to make this work.

13.01.2022 If you see Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel in the local area, please dont be alarmed or jump to conclusions that may cause unnecessary fear. Soldiers ...are supporting Victoria Police to knock on doors and make sure people who have been tested for COVID-19 are doing the right thing and isolating in their homes. With the National Parks closing from tonight, the ADF will likely assist in manning our magnificent coastline as well. Theyll be out and about making sure everyone is wearing a face mask and a whole host of other duties to support the collective effort. Should anyone test positive in the Local Government Area, that result will be made public by the State Government and well make sure we help to keep everyone in the community fully informed. #staysafe #stayhome #wearamask #lookafteryourself #lookaftereachother #bykind #smile #wereallinthistogether #workingtogetheforahealthcommunity

08.01.2022 WRITTEN BY A COP: Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved ones life. In daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things ...to do in an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, & everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in. 1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do! 2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,....... DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. AND RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.. The driver wont see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives. 4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.)... DONT DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your HEAD and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF....... Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!!!! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes......BAIL OUT AND RUN!!!! It is better than having them find your body in a remote location. 5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage: A.) BE AWARE... look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor and in the back seat. B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. C.) Look at the car parked on the drivers side of your vehicle, and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!) 7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!!!! Preferably in a zig -zag pattern! 8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP!!! It may get you raped or killed. (Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked for help into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next VICTIM). 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last and because it was late and she thought it was weird..She called the police. The police told her Whatever you do, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR! The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a windrow and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, do not open the door. He told her that they think a serial killer has a babys cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby.. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear babys cries outside their doors when theyre home alone at night. 10. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe..... DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack. Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbors! Id like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. I was going to send this to the ladies only but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.... You may want to pass it onto them. Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved ones life.

08.01.2022 Interesting read.

08.01.2022 These are called "Bay leaves" Many people add bay leaves to foods especially jollof rice(Nigerian), red meat and poultry but do you know why bay leaves are adde...d to food? When asked why, some reply: to add flavor to the food Do you know that If you boil some bay leaves in a glass of water and taste it, it will sometimes have little or no flavor? Now why do you put bay leaves in the meat? The addition of bay leaves to meat converts triglycerides to monounsaturated fats, and for experimentation and confirmation: Cut the chicken in half and cook each half in a pan and place on one bay leaf, and the other without bay leaf and observe the amount of fat in both pans. If you have bay leaves, there is no need for a pharmacy. Recent scientific studies have shown that bay leaves have many benefits & helps to get rid of many serious health problems and illnesses. The benefits of bay leaf are: - *Bay leaf treats digestive disorders and helps eliminate lumps, Heartburn, Acidity & Constipation. *It helps regulate bowel movement by drinking hot bay tea. *It lowers blood sugar and bay leaf is also an antioxidant *It allows the body to produce insulin by eating it or drinking bay tea for a month. *IT eliminates bad cholesterol and relieves the body of triglycerides. *Its very useful in treating colds, flu and severe cough as it is a rich source of vitamin "C", you can boil the leaves and inhale steam to get rid of phlegm and reduce the severity of cough. *Bay leaf protects the heart from seizures and strokes as it contains cardiovascular protective compounds. *Its rich in acids such as caffeic acid, quercetin, eigonol and bartolinide, substances that prevent the formation of cancer cells in the body. *It eliminates insomnia and anxiety, if taken before bed, helps you relax and sleep peacefully. Drinking a cup of boiled bay leaves twice a day breaks kidney stones and cures infections ... Just like garlic and ginger are a must find amongst my collection of spices, Bay leaves are a must see in my collection of spices too(my little spice secrets to good aroma and flavor) Share
