05.01.2022 Congratulations Cameron Smith and Craig Bellamy on a great Grand Final win in an incredibly tough season. Commiserations to Penrith who were gallant in defeat after winning 17 games in a row.

04.01.2022 BOYD IN THE HOTSEAT Has there ever been a player go into a new season under as much pressure and speculation than Brisbane Bronco Darius Boyd? I can't recall a player starting the season off facing more questions than Darius who has played at the highest levels and been involved in premiership, Origins and Test wins during his stellar career.... What position will he play? Will he even play first grade? Will he retain the captaincy? Can he recapture something like his best form and blow his critics away? I have watched all of Boyd's career and there is no doubt when he is at his best he is a champion player. Wayne Bennett identified him early as a special player and he was right. But last year there was something missing in Darius's game. He wasn't the same player, off the pace, not committed in defence, some said he had lost it. Now I was one of Boyd's biggest critics in the early days, not about his football ability, but his attitude, and his dislike of the media. I never questioned his playing ability. But now he at the cross-roads and even some of his fans have turned on him. Boyd is not a big social media person, but he would have to be living under a rock not to know what fans and critics are saying. Word OUT OF Red Hill is Boyd is slaying it at pre-season training and is super fit and ready to hit the ground running. I for one want to wait and see if Boyd has taken on the challenge to prove his critics wrong, I hope has and I hope he does. But if he can't deliver, and he will know that himself, he should step aside. Like I said, it's going to be an interesting 2020. TICKER
