25.01.2022 Good morning Tickity Boo customers, Its with great sadness that we announce the closure of our centre effective from the close of business today, Friday 20th March. We have made this difficult decision with an extremely heavy heart. ... Our decision has been made because we deeply care about the health and well-being of our staff and that of our customers. Our first priority is to keep everyone safe. We have also had to consider our financial situation and the need to immediately minimise the financial strain due to the lack of custom since the outbreak of Covid-19 virus. At this stage, due to the rapidly changing nature of the situation, we will not announce a reopening date. I would like to thank everyone for there support, love, laughs and continued custom over the past 10+ years. It has been a pleasure meeting and getting to know so many families; this has definitely been a highlight of our time here. Over the years we have created many cherished memories for you and all your families. Hopefully you will affectionately reflect on these times and the photos of your beautiful children at Tickity Boo. I would like to commend our amazing team for all their tirelessly hard work and dedication making Tickity Boo one of the best centre year after year. They all have worked hard and with open hearts to provide happiness and joy to your families. I admire their team spirit, consideration for others and attention to detail. So here is a massive shout out to Team Tickity Boo I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that this is an opportunity to help each other through these challenging times with kindness, consideration and understanding of each other in this wonderful and beautiful society in which we belong. Please continue to support your local small businesses, small business accounts for 33% of Australias GDP, they need your custom in order to stay in business and support their own families. Should you need to contact us please do not hesitate to send a message, call us on 9370-9002 or sms us on 0499 261 772. Stay safe, Michelle

23.01.2022 Weaving is fun for kids of any age, but toddlers need a little help with their fine motor skills. Pipe cleaners are easier to thread than a piece of string or wool and a colander gives them a large 3-d surface to weave in and out of. #TickityBoo

14.01.2022 Naturopathic tips for helping avoid viral infections.... To optimise your immune response to exposure, should it occur: If you are feeling run down, rest and refresh.... Eat a diet that supports optimal immune function, including whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats. Alkalise your diet as much as possible. Stay hydrated: drink water, herbal teas, coconut water, bone broth. Support immunity by ingesting food and drink cultured to support an active and robust gut microbiome. Foods high in fibre is essential for this process. Avoid sugars, alcohol, and refined, overly processed foods. Regular and appropriate exercise also helps support immune function. Ensure adequate sleep, which is essential for the immune system to function properly. Avoid smoking, which can worsen viral-like symptoms and susceptibility. This also protects others from the effects of second-hand smoke. Reduce stress. Excess stress is associated with elevated cortisol levels, which negatively impacts immune function. Continue to manage underlying illnesses and chronic disease. Often it is those who are chronically ill, the very young and the very old who have worse outcomes with acute viral infections.

09.01.2022 Dont just tell your child what you want them to do. Show them... We are programmed to copy others actions to understand them and to incorporate them into our own. Children in particular watch everything their parents do very carefully. So, be the person you want your child to be respect your child, show them positive behaviour and attitude, have empathy towards your childs emotion and your child will follow suit. #TickityBoo

07.01.2022 A great rainy day activity or just when you need something to do is a Contact Paper Collage! Simply cut a sheet of contact paper and remove the backing so you have a very sticky sheet. Tape it to a table or window, sticky side up in front of your toddler. Then let them create! You can give them squares of cut up paper, sequins, rice, glitter, sand, leaves . . .anything small!... When they are done, cut a second piece of contact paper to sandwich their work of art in between. Hang it in a window like a sun catcher! #TickityBoo

06.01.2022 As a parent, youre likely to be the most significant influence in your children's lives, habits and rituals that become a regular part of your family life will have the most impact. Even on your busiest days, you can show your child that you care during your ordinary, everyday activities. Consider the following ideas to integrate into your regular routines to make your child feel loved and valued. 1. The next time your child wants to talk to you, put down what you're doing a...nd give them your full eye contact and complete attention. Ask a question or two that shows you're truly listening and are present. 2. Go beyond the generic "How was school?" conversation and instead ask your kids pointed questions that show you're invested in what's going on in their lives. 3. You don't need to carve out large chunks of time; even 10 minutes a day is okay. Let your child decide what you do together and, if possible, turn your phone off orbetter yetleave it in another room so you're not tempted to check Facebook. 4. A kiss on the cheek, a bear hug showing your affection makes kids feel loved. Not a "hugging" family? Create your own special handshake or come up with a fun code word with each kid. 5. Sure, you're probably not as excited about the newest collection of LOL dolls as they are, but loving what your kids love is a great way to show they're important to you. Listen with enthusiasm as they explain the inner workings of their Lego castle, and make yourself available to help foster their hobby. #TickityBoo See more

04.01.2022 Some great advice - everyone please watch....

04.01.2022 Sometimes kids dont like brushing their teeth at all, let alone being able to do it right. But teeth are important so here are 8 tips to help you out. 1. Supervision Dentists recommend children are supervised when brushing their teeth until theyre eight years old. It can take children a while to get the hang of brushing their teeth when theyre small, so why not make it something you do together? Give them a choice between brushing their teeth themselves or doing it for the...m and if they dont do it properly? Its your turn. 2. Smart brushing Tooth brushing apps for your smartphone and tablet can help get children excited about brushing their teeth. Macleans Nurdle Time is good, and there is also one from The Wiggles. Apps mean that children can watch a cute song and video while brushing their teeth. Apps tell them what to do and make sure they brush for a full two minutes. Many even have other games and features to make brushing fun, so your children may want to play the apps outside of brushing time too! 3. New brushes Try letting your children choose a new toothbrush for themselves. Surely an Elsa or Batman brush can make tooth time more attractive? You can also try different types such as electric brushes or ones that change colour. 4. Stop using toothpaste Has your child complained their toothpaste is too spicy or too minty? Some kids cant stand toothpaste. Not to worry. Its the act of brushing itself that matters most in removing plaque and food particles, so just get them to use water instead. Once theyre comfortable and competent, introduce very small amounts of toothpaste. 5. Bribery When all else fails, reward them for brushing their teeth. It doesnt have to be anything huge; stickers are great for when they reach the full two minutes. Or you can use incentives like letting them choose their own breakfast in the morning. Just be careful about offering sweets as rewards after all, were trying to keep those teeth healthy! #TickityBoo
