25.01.2022 Recently I had the absolute honour of being a co-host to a series of @firesticks.alliance.network webinars, through my role at @treading_lightly_inc. Most of which were done here at the studio. Many of the conversations resonated with me so deeply. Like our purpose here on earth to respect, care and honour this land that gives us so much. Taking the time to be connected and to watch and listen. To move slowly and with consciousness. To cleanse and heal. Soooo much of this h...as been at the forefront of my mind when practicing and teaching. So much so that I was meditating this morning and these thoughts about the similarities between what the medicine, healing practice of cool burning means as a wholistic way of living on country for indigenous people also mean to me in my yoga practice. It’s not about controlled burns or quick fixes, or emergency management. It’s about reading country, likewise practicing to read what our heart, soul, heads need in order to flourish and regenerate and to keep doing the work. To be witness to this and treat the landscape/ourselves with respect, compassion and long term healing, and to continue doing that so that we never get out of control or unable to mange or be managed. We are our own practitioners. We are our own healers. We just have to learn to read country/ourselves and tend to its needs without rushing or urgency or panic. That’s what my practice is these days. That’s my intention for teaching and sharing knowledge. It’s the continual cool burning practice of the body, heart, head, soul. I’m so grateful to receive this knowledge from our indigenous people and wish to deeply acknowledge the gratitude I hold close to my soul. Sometimes you have to be still to listen and receive, then be even stiller to let the vibrations radiate at a cellular level so that we can gracefully grow and build resilience through even the toughest of times .

Jump into the Tidal Newsletter (link below) and scroll through to the bottom to find a fun Salt Dough Christmas Decoration recipe and instructions. 24.01.2022 That’s simply all it takes How many of us look at our bodies daily and wished it was something so much more. Skinnier, taller, shorter, more voluptuous, less voluptuous, etc etc etc... Even with all the work I have done around this over the years, I still do it...daily. ... But it’s in those moments I remember what my body has done for me. It’s carried me through almost half a century of life, enabled me to climb many mountains, swim in many seas, given birth to two beautiful humans & provides me with an ability to teach hundreds of classes every year. It comes with hundreds of years of genetics from many different cultures. It’s unique to ME. That’s why I have to be kind to my body, why I have to love it for exactly what it is, to not compare & in return look after it with good food, movement, self care, hydration & loads & loads of self love in many forms. I HAVE to have a positive relationship with my body because IT’S THE ONLY ONE I HAVE! This practice of Yoga for me is not negotiable. It’s not a choice, it’s a necessity because it is the relationship I have with my body. It’s in those times of simply moving slowly & consciously that I fall back in love with my body over & over & over again. Literally from the inside out! Yoga is not just movement for the sake of moving though. It’s about massaging the organs in a way that gives them a little helping hand, the liver, kidneys, intestines, spleen, bladder, heart, the whole lot. It’s about activating the energy channels in the body that keep those system flowing & healthy. It’s about oxygenation through connecting & awareness to breathe. It’s about nourishing the adrenal system & nurturing the nervous system so we can drop into our parasympathetic state. It’s about giving ourselves permission to feel into ourselves & drop the external world for a short while. You see that’s why it’s non negotiable for me, and why I love to share this sacred practice with others. Todays classes will be about exploring all of that & moving in a way that will give everyone the chance, beginner up, to feel this beautiful experience of self too. See you on the mat to share my practice today 10:00am and 6:00pm

22.01.2022 This Monday marks the longest day of light for 2020 and Tidal is hoping to celebrate this special day with a FREE community event on SUNDAY 20th, to be hosted by myself and some special friends, Felix Salmon and Dean Howcroft MS Journey Yogis of all ages are welcome to celebrate light and the longest day of the year with a mindful free flowing yoga practice for all levels, including an opportunity to connect to country and Mother Earth (in community), followed by a beautiful ...relaxation on the beach below the precious North Narrawallee rock face to the sound of Didgeridoo c/- my beautiful friends @felix.salmon and @dhmsjourney . Don’t miss this opportunity to reconnect and reset because even at a time when it seems impossible, one can, and should, take a moment to find harmony within their mind, body and this beautiful environment. COVID-19 safety precautions will apply, so please if you are feeling unwell or have travelled to a hotspot in the past week, as much as we hate to ask, please practice from home and let us know so we can hold you in our hearts. 21.01.2022 Thank you Woodstock Chocolate Co. for these CUTE lil turtles. The kids LOVED them so much this week and judging from little Cohens face, this special treat for end of term brought so much joy to their precious souls. I literally NEVER serve sugar in the studio, I never give ‘rewards’ for good behaviour in the way of ‘treats’ as some days kids just need to feel validated for exactly who they are, as they are. Kids need to be able to feel free to have a bad day and have permis...sion to express that, otherwise how could I ever teach them coping techniques? It’s not about discipline, it’s about being held, being heard and being safe. BUT this was our last week of term, of the year so I wanted to reward them all for stepping up, ESPECIALLY this year! So @woodstockchocolateco was the obvious choice. We practiced a mindful eating meditation. First look at these beautiful chocolates, look at the effort that has gone into making them, where the ingredients came from and the energy that has gone into growing the ingredients, milking the precious cows, the people that harvested, shipped, packaged, made the chocolate. The beautiful, beautiful local people that pour their hearts and souls into making these particular chocolates, how incredibly special. Then smelling the chocolate, what do you smell? How does it make you feel? What memories does it evoke? To taking a tiny bite, what do you taste? Where on your tongue do you feel the strongest sensation of taste? Honestly by the time all 50+ kids this week finally got to eat their turtle there literally wasn’t a peep in the room for close to 5 minutes. They literally learnt the art of savouring. None of them asked for a second one. They were so happy with what they were given. They were appreciative and thankful. I am so so so proud of all of them. This year they have taught me SO MUCH. Thank you my little Yogis. You literally fill my heart with gratitude
19.01.2022 Enrolments opening up at Tidal Yoga Milton soon for next years Lioness Program. Wonderful foundations for our young women. Thank you Mar Ice for being the Yang to our Yin ... And Jade Mudge and Fiene Schaap for being an integral part of the conception of this program xx
18.01.2022 Coming into the silly season it’s easy to get swept up in it all. Especially after the year that has been. So how do we stay grounded and focused on the simple things in life? Well here’s one truly tried and tested metaphor for mindfulness. ‘Be where your feet are’. Think about that. Bang! Your are in the moment. Your have dropped in to mindfulness. Not the past, not the future. Right now! ... Drop your shoulders and soften your belly then add to that appreciation for this precious human life. Add to that consciousness of breath and awareness of how you are feeling in your heart and soul, and you amplify that mindfulness tenfold. You don’t have to be a meditation guru to achieve mindfulness. It’s in these small moments of being where your feet are that taps into the body’s nervous system and creates new pathways to the brain to know it’s all ok. All of it. Give it a try right now, a few times today and just see what happens. You might be quietly surprised
17.01.2022 VINYASA FLOW SALUTE TO THE SUN ‘Do this everyday. NO EXCUSES!’ - Charlie ... Out of the mouths of babes. If they can do it so can we. I hope these little ones go home and spread the love of yoga out to their families, their village. They are all naturally teachers themselves. They just get it. I love their precious yoga souls. Be like them. Out of our heads and into the precious moment.
16.01.2022 Read this over and over
16.01.2022 Come join us for a morning flow tomorrow 8:30am with Moni. It’s going to be beautiful flow in anticipation of a full moon rising. Yoga for Absolute Beginners at 10:00am with Mardi and Moni. ...
15.01.2022 After a beautiful morning of permaculture immersion in the studio today, I so resonate with this beautiful image. Our gut is our precious garden of microbes and the more we connect back to earth, to soil, to dirt, to home grown, low mile foods, the more our microbes will flourish at a cellular level, in conjunction with the microbes in the earth. It’s not woo woo, it’s science, but it’s also common sense thinking. It’s so simple really, but somehow we complicate it. ... This weekend get out in the garden, sit on the earth, do some yoga on the grass, under a tree, eat from the earth as much as you can and ditch that packaged, processed stuff where you can. Swim in the ocean, stomp in the mud, walk in the rain, play in the garden. Cover your skin in organic strawberries or mango or any organic fruit and let it dry and soak in. Bathe in seaweed and drink organic wine whilst mindfully eating the purest form of dark chocolate. All these things are antidotes to life in the fast lane, sitting in front of screens, walking on concrete in shoes, and breathing in pollution. We can’t escape it all but we can mitigate it with these delicious practices and philosophies that have been practiced for centuries. Looking after our biome is the highest form of self compassion that we can give to ourselves, our bodies, our brains, our hearts and our community. Garbage in, garbage out! Precious goodness in, sweet goodness out
15.01.2022 Happy #internationalyogaday beautiful people. Not to mention happy Winter Solstice. Agghhhh I cannot tell you how full my heart is today, for so many reasons (I will share more when the time is right) but right now I want to give so much GRATITUDE. Gratitude to all of my students and supporters of Tidal, my fellow yoga tribe/teachers and especially MY teachers. Both in the lineage of Yoga, the sutras and all the teachings of yoga, but also all the other combined modalities,... including the life experiences that have helped shaped me on the path of yoga, meditation, breathe work, movement, dance and so much more. I call on all of these teachings daily to guide me. Thank you I have tagged some of you but there are a million more. To all of our yoga community here’s to you for sacrificing so much for the benefit of others. I am so grateful for all of you. To celebrate this fullness and gratitude in my heart, and this very special time of WINTER SOLSTICE I invite you to get out of bed early tomorrow to come and join me for a sunrise practice at 6:30am tomorrow in the studio. FREE! No charge, just come along and celebrate Think of it as New Years Day! The first day of a new, beautiful year. No commitment to come again, just come and share in this celebration by moving, breathing, expression on the mat. It will be a class suitable to all levels. For anyone wanting to hang around after I am so keen to sit in circle and set some intentions as the new day rises. See you tomorrow 6:30am
15.01.2022 Now stocking these divine bolsters and eye pillows by the gorgeous Courtney from @the.slow.mo.co. I have been using my bolster from beautiful Courtney for a few months now, and just last night the delicious eye pillow and let me tell you they are the nicest props I have ever owned. If you don’t have a bolster in your life, yogi or not, your life is not complete ( just kidding). But no seriously bolsters are beautiful tools you can use in your everyday life to restore and ...use as a very gentle stretch tool every single day. Not just during yoga, but while doing things like watching television, reading books, meditating, or just chilling for a while. Combined with the eye pillow, time out just doesn’t get any better. But the thing I love about these products is the ethical and sustainable intention behind them. Courtney sources all the material and organic cotton remnants from suppliers within 10kms of where she lives (so low production miles) amd most saved from landfill, apart from the organic buckwheat hulls which are sourced from local farmers in Parkes. The eye pillows are made from the offcuts and filled with beautiful lavender, camomile and linseed. Honestly to stock products that has so much thought and love poured into them is such an honour. To celebrate I am offering a package price for this quality bolster and eye pillow set for $175 down from $195 for both. These would make the perfect Christmas present that would be a beautiful addition to any home. Stocks are limited so don’t hesitate to message me if you would like me to keep some aside. Thank you Courtney for your huge, caring, sustainable heart. You have been a pleasure to deal with and can’t wait to collaborate more in the future

10.01.2022 New moon feels today in the studio today. Tonight I will take a cleansing soak in a kelp bath, practice a sage cleanse and write down, on tiny pieces of paper, all the big manifestations I want to come to fruition over this next moon phase. Because you know what they say, unless you write it down you don’t mean it. ... Happy new moon beautiful people

08.01.2022 Happy tears today after teaching my last kids class for the year. This was my minis last week during their last class. How darn cute are they? It’s been 11 years now since I decided teaching yoga to young people was my passion and where I needed to direct my energy. All those years on and I still love teaching to them more than anything in the universe. For the first part of my teaching years the imposter syndrome in me felt that I wasn’t enough just teaching kids only. Tha...t not being an adults teacher (back then) made me less of a teacher in the yoga world because I chose not to teach adults. Now, yes I LOVE teaching adults, but teaching young people is such a skill, one I’m still yet to master. They need 100% focus and attention. Each and everyone of them. Kids need to be taught according to their developmental stages, so programming and timetables alone take lots of thought and consideration. They are straight up honest, so if they don’t like something, they just won’t do it, but if they love it they will keep coming back for more because they know it’s good for them. You have to be incredibly flexible to teach kids, not as in physically, but in your class planning and attachment to how you want the class to flow. You have to be ready for their energy, their emotions and moods, their shifts and twists in life, friendships and in themselves. Over the past 11 years I have learnt so much, not just about teaching to kids but also how I choose to teach adults. It’s not one size fits all. It’s creating space for everyone to feel nurtured, safe, loved and creative. Especially these young Yogis. How blessed am I to be on this path. If you are a yoga teacher and you haven’t taught kids classes yet, give it a whirl. Trust me you will learn more about yourself than you could ever imagine. Thank you kids for a wonderful year. And to all the mums and dads that bring them along. Maybe over the summer period it might be your turn to come give it a try I would love to see you x
08.01.2022 If there’s one thing that’s been a highlight of my week and questioned my ability to be a better person, it was this statement from gorgeous little Connor. I heard him calling me from the sandpit when I arrived to teach Yoga. I went over to see what he wanted to tell me. But instead of giving me his usual gorgeous animated story about his day, or the bugs he found in the garden or his weekend adventures with Nanny, he stopped, looked up at me and with pure sincerity and aske...d ‘How did you sleep last night Mon?’ Can you even imagine how that felt, heart explosion. I think we can all learn from this simple, beautiful act of kindness from a mere 4yr old. Instead of the regular ‘Hi, how are you?’ that we sometimes mindlessly ask, maybe a simple question like this could be the one thing that makes a person feel truly cared about and validated. I know I did in this moment Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could all think about how we can go slower and use language to truly connect. Do yourself a favour and be like Connor
07.01.2022 Come join us on the mat TONIGHT 6:30pm with the ever so beautiful Mardi. Come and enjoy the air conditioned space, and soak up the opportunity to just switch off for an hour of bliss Either message for bookings or just show up if you get the last minute urge and opportunity to escape
07.01.2022 ‘Train to let go of everything you fear’ - Yoda Including early mornings under the doona. Sometimes stepping away from our attachment to comfort means leaning into the uncomfortable. Every time we challenge ourselves to move away from what makes us comfortable is an opportunity to discover that there is so much to learn beyond the comfort zone. ... So much growth, joy and abundance to life. BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE CHOICE. You have to be stronger than that little voice that says ‘just stay here under the doona’. Some days we need to rest and nurture ourselves, however sometimes, even on those days we think that the doona is the best option, if we drag ourselves kicking and screaming to the yoga mat early in the morning, we will literally change the course of our day. And perhaps, who knows, that day could change the course of your life. Thank you beautiful Mardi @essentialhealthandfitnesspt for a precious start to the weekend with this wonderful flow with beautiful people. Thank you brave warriors for getting out of bed and away from your attachment to comfort, to come practice with us for this sunrise session. Have a beautiful day

02.01.2022 L I G H T What 6:30am practice looks like in the studio. I love the way the light changes as we move through the dark mornings of this beautiful season, into the crisp sunrise. Honestly there is no better way to start your day. As one beautiful student said this morning, ‘now I can go home and snuggle on the couch with a cup of tea and not feel at all guilty.’... So sweet and SO TRUE. Thank you beautiful Mardi Schulz for a delicious class this morning. It’s always such a blessing to have the opportunity to take the seat of the student And well done to all of you that got out of bed early and braved the elements to be there I hope your day is divine!
01.01.2022 Here’s a little sneak peek at what Jan Kierzkowski and I are scheming to bring beautiful closure to this year. Full event link coming soon but if you are interested in getting your name on the list or a personal invitation, comment below and we will send you details before we release it publicly. It’s going to be special xxx
01.01.2022 Just a quick note to let everyone know I will be out of the studio today so I can see my ‘actual’ little (big) yogi and her friends share their last precious moment after 13 years of school. This little one has her formal tonight, so beautiful Cheryl and Mardi are stepping in for me. I’m sure the kids will have a ball with them tonight. I’ll miss them all and will look forward to seeing them all for our last week of yoga next week for Term 4. ... See you all on the mat tomorrow for classes as usual. Xxxx Moni
