17.01.2022 "Oh Sorry Sir, when you asked for a lower rate". "I thought you meant the lowest rate for YOU, not the lowest rates we are currently giving NEW customers". "You're not new, we can't do that".... A new customer today had me in stitches. He thought he was all over his old bank by getting them to reduce his rate. Sometimes up to twice a year. And rightly so. When I told him that he was still not getting the best rates. They are reserved for new customers. He couldn't wait to get off the phone to me to so he could (in his words). "Call my bank and tear them a new one". I felt sorry for the 22-year-old customer service person who took his call this afternoon ...... sort of
