25.01.2022 We have a new Facebook Page for the town. We need all of you to help us to come up with information, memories, ideas etc for our 150 year anniversary in 2023. Please feel free to upload ideas and pictures onto the Ardrossan Alive 150 Facebook Page

24.01.2022 The Ardrossan Tidy Towns Group in its current form celebrates its 20th birthday this year. This will be marked with a luncheon at the Ardrossan Bowling Club shortly and a good number of TTG volunteers, past and present, will be there. In the meantime, a quick flick through some of the many photos taken on the team in action and the result may be reminder for us all. Sadly, some of those pictured are no longer with us- but I'm sure Lawrie Greig is up there, looking down! In ad...dition to the members, the Tidy Towns Group has been supported since its inception by the Ardrossan Progress Association in all manner of ways. Likewise, the Y.P. Council has been a great partner with the likes of Goldie, Nick and others. In the community, we've had great contributions by many businesses and individuals- the morning teas are a bonus! Thank you and long may it all continue! See more

18.01.2022 A new business has opened in town ...

14.01.2022 A year ago, Ardrossan won the top prize for Best Sustainable Community in SA. A major part in this was the overall appearance of the town, plus litter and waste management. A year on and the work of the Tidy Towns Team continues week in and out, especially after the public holidays. This week's group task was to prune the shrubs in one of the beds near the caravan park and to fix problems with the irrigation system. It was not just the Tidy Towns "boys' today as we were joined by Helen Brook- just to make sure we cut the right things! Note that when you spot the little blue pick, it means that Kevin Betterman is again busy with a job! Elsewhere the mowers were in action, the bottles and cans were being sorted and the BBQ getting the regular clean.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the predicted heat on Friday we have had to cancel the Street Parade. We wish you a Merry Christmas.Unfortunately due to the predicted heat on Friday we have had to cancel the Street Parade. We wish you a Merry Christmas.

12.01.2022 We welcome our newest member Dazza Bulley. He answers to other names as well - but ignores most of them. Fits in well in the group. Brought his own John Deere tractor so he can dig some 'really big' holes as he's got a lot to bury he tells us! We're not game enough to ask what!... His bad habit of car chasing is thankfully over since he got his heavy machinery licence. See more

11.01.2022 Recognise this spot in town? It's the corner of the Hall car park where once a tree grew. Since the tree's removal, the surrounding timber sleepers have crumbled and the weeds taken up residence With the pending art show coming up, some of the Tidy Towns Group have decided to tidy it up. The old sleepers have been removed and even better, a large pallet which has been lying near the sheds broken up and removed. The team will be looking to get the area in shape for the coming show. In the long term, perhaps some native plants might be a good idea.

11.01.2022 Some finer weather for the Tidy Towns Group members means opportunities to look at jobs on the list for attention. Aided with the water jetter funded by the APA, Kevin Betterman makes light work of preparing the two timber bridges for recoating. One bridge is well used on the Bridge Road crossing and the other adjacent to the Dinham Wing. If my memory serves me correctly, these were constructed by the late Bob Cooney, a much valued member of the TTG. The water jetter also serves as the best method of sanitising the various bins around serviced by the TTG on a regular basis.

08.01.2022 So often a mixture of news as regards keeping our town tidy. Mondays is an early start for some of the volunteers who ensure the bins on the jetty are ready to be emptied by the contractor. At least the sunrise gives the job something to look at, before dealing with the bins and spotting the graffiti. The latter issue was resolved the next day). The good news was that the issue of waste on the cliff top car park has received attention from the YP Council- thank to Andre and Dave! The limited opening lid on the yellow bin will prevent strong winds blowing the litter from the bin, but the issue of general litter on the cliff top fence may well need a mesh on the fence to prevent rubbish ending up in the ocean. Much of this is discarded wrappings dropped out of cars. A couple of the TTG guys did a litter pick up and bagged a fair amount.

04.01.2022 Some cold and wet weather, but worthwhile jobs still getting done with the refurbishment of three signs on the town's approaches by the Tidy Towns Group. The bright blue makes a noticeable change to the faded brown!

02.01.2022 Thank you to all those who follow the activities of the Ardrossan Tidy Towns Group via our Facebook page. 2018 was a great year with the Top Spot in the KESAB awards and more recently two awards for the area in the National Keep Australia Beautiful awards. A sad end to 2018 with the loss of one of our most enthusiastic members, Lawrie Greig. Our Tidy Towns Group's effort are an all year effort by a team of guys and gals who just love making the town a great place to work and live, irrespective of official awards. I guess we should have a group photo of the team, but they are either shy, or out busy working, so I'll use one of the TTG's admirers looking at a recent and very noticeable result of the TTG's efforts.

02.01.2022 The Chair to the Centenary Committee was Jan Hills father M.L. Sanders. He felt it was important to celebrate the Centenary to acknowledge the hard work and suc...cess of the pioneers and settlers. He also felt we needed to preserve their history for future generations and make our current the history of tomorrow. The Committee in the photo were: Top- L to R - T O Baird, C K Stephenson, I H Hosking, R T J Hogarth, A H Burrows, W H Lodge, B J Rowntree, Bottom - Mrs H Simmons, Mrs L Willing, M L Sanders, L M D Brokenshire, Mrs G Petersen.
