25.01.2022 Plenty of tomatoes on the vine but for the first time this year, the early morning parrots have discovered the green ones. Best thing to do is to harvest and lacto ferment a couple of jars to keep them out of their clutches. #fermented #tomatoes #CampHill

16.01.2022 Today it’s about using some of the harvest for a red curry paste. I like this recipe as it’s not too fiery and can be used in a variety of dishes. Use fresh chillis if you don’t have any dried ones. If I want to make a dish spicier, I can add extra chillis into the meal at cooking time, rather than into the paste. If you like to blow your head off , you can of course add them to the paste. I put some in a jar for now and some into frozen cubes, for later use.

10.01.2022 After dithering and procrastinating and researching far too much, I finally made my first batch of chapsticks. They reuse existing tubes that I’d been collecting (don’t worry, I sterilised them). Of course, it was so much easier than I expected and I’m happy to be reusing something that can’t be easily recycled. I’m glad to have a new supply on such a windy day! 08.01.2022 Ottolenghi’s Green Pancakes with Lime Butter for lunch. One way to use, you guessed it, excess silverbeet I included some nasturtium seed capers for extra bite. Very quick to make, very quick to eat. Recipe in comments#eatyourgreens
