25.01.2022 With no games for either Tiger's side in the weekend just gone, we thought it was (finally!) time to recap our game from the weekend before against Launnie For the second week in a row the girls trekked the 2 and a half hour drive to Launceston, this time to take on the Blues at Windsor Park! Hit with injury and availability, 16 Tigers made the trip knowing it was going to be a tough slog against the ladder leading Launceston. The Tigers started the game well with exceptio...nal pressure in their defensive 50 only conceding 5 behinds against the wind! Unfortunately Ruby Shinkfield went down with a knee injury early on which left 15 girls on the field. This fuelled the girls on as they took it up to the Blues in the second quarter scoring a goal through Phoebe Parsons. The Blues were able to score two goals of their own, but the Tiger's efforts around the contest and pressure acts around the field were unquestionably tough. The Blues were able to kick away in the latter half of the game, but the Tigers continued to fight throughout the duration of the game, bringing their trademark resilience and fight to the end. It was a tough, physical contest between the two sides, who expect nothing less when they go head to head. The Tigers have a second bye this weekend as they prepare their plans to tackle the remaining three sides over the last three weeks of the competition. You can guarantee there will be big expectations from the girls on themselves for their remaining three games, and know that we'll be working hard on the track in the meantime LAUNCESTON 0.5 5, 2.5 17, 5.9 39, 8.11 59 TIGERS 0.0 0, 1.0 6, 1.0 6, 1.0 6 GOAL P. 14.01.2022 Gadomski-Riewoldt Round
14.01.2022 Last Saturday the Tigers were back at home to face a hot Clarence side. Despite putting in the effort all day, the Tigers weren't able to overcome the ladder-leading Roos as they kicked away on the scoreboard. It was the first time the sides have faced off in the "Gadomski-Riewoldt" match, with medals being awarded to one player of each side for "courage" as nominated by the opposing coach. Captain Mikayla Absolom was awarded the medal for the Tigers, and Hannah Smith for t...he Roos. Congratulations also to Lilly Ellis who played out of her skin in her 50th Club Game! With just one rostered game left for the season, the Tigers have now shifted their focus to their match against North Launceston this Saturday. The Tigers will be looking to put in a good showing and have bad a good week on the track thus far in preparation. 08.01.2022 And just like that, it's the Tiger's last game of the regular season! Today's game sees a juicy match up between the Tigers and the Northern Bombers. Clashes between these two sides have never been anything but exciting, and today promises to be no different. The Tigers are hungry for their first win of the season, so expect them to come out of the blocks with fire in their bellies to get there! ... Head to the Twin Ovals from 3:45pm to catch the action, and show your support for our female Tigers in their final regular season game! #tigersfooty #hungrytigers
07.01.2022 On Saturday the TSLW girls headed out to KGV Oval to face a tough Glenorchy outfit. The Tigers knew to expect a tough, heated contest and that's exactly what the game delivered. The Tigers defence stood tall against Glenorchy's attack for the better part of the day, however the Tigers were unable to capitalise on their own attacking opportunities. In a physical game, the girls threw everything they could at the Pies, however Glenorchy's class and attacking football proved to...o tough a challenge for the Tigers to overcome on this occasion. The Tigers now look ahead to an enticing game against Clarence this weekend. After playing the last four rostered games away, the Tigers are looking forward to playing at home again in what will be an enticing match up!
